Re: Electrical type question

3 relays up front on the left side, check those... also 05 ignition is different from 04... more wires in 05 on the ignition harness. has somthing to do with your FAN..

Re: Electrical type question

I would suspect it's somewhere in the wires you spliced together or in the ignition. Tip sensor is already taken care of so you know it's not that, but I'd triple check your splice and if you can try swapping out ignitions considering you are using an 04 harness. I don't remember, but I think it shouldn't matter if you use an 04 ignition on an 05 bike if the harness is different.

Re: Electrical type question

Make sure all of your splices are good... all you have to do is take a 9 volt battery and hook it up to your wires and use a light tester at the other end. I spliced together a group of wires once and it turns out even after soldering it the connection was bad and once I took apart the cluster, re-soldered it everything was money. Just food for thought.

****...that's not what he's doing, but I was about to say that won't work, but now I'm not sure. The 05 ignition won't work on an 04 harness, but an 04 ignition may work on an 05 harness.

i believe i may have found out why its not working...

the guys on 600rr.net say its becuase i need an 05 ECU. they said the 04 runs at 9.5V DC and that the 05 is at 12V DC. they said its not running becuase it thinks im trying to hot wire it.
