help a bandwaggoner out
can't stunt worth a crap but you guys have some good opinions so i'm posting this here too. allright i lowered my 06' f4i 3/4" in the front so it would steer quicker, and none in the rear. after riding it a while and turin up the wick i'm starting to drag hard parts too easily. so i need to raise it some (10mm). i have no triple stand, no rafters, trees, or any other means of supporting the front end and there's no chance i'm going to pay the idiot stealership. do you guys have any recomendations on how i can do this? i'm going riding this weekend and hittin the twisties. i need to get this done asap. thanks, also is it allright to run 4 quarts of oil (1/2 quart over) if i'm gonna start taking my whoolies seriously. i've got standstill burnouts down. BWAHAHA! i promise to practice my clutch whoolies now :YEAH

lowering the front is the poor mans method for quicker turn-in and steering, but you lose some ground clearance and your bike becomes a little twitchier. i'm not goin to the track anytime soon so i don't need to raise the rear. don't need that much ground clearance for the street.

nah man, i've been riding for 7 years. the f4i feels like a pig in corners. i know you only steer in parking lots. i came of of an 00' r6. it was twichy but corned like a ***** fuka. the f4i is a better bike imo, i'm just tryin to set up it up to have r6 cornering manners. btw, my ole' lady's maiden name is rizo. italians got some fiery tempers

This is got to be the biggest collection of unexperience I've seen in a while... J/K...
Seriously though.. just get sizzor jack floor jack anything you got and a piece of 2X4 and raise the bike up by the header.. then lower the forks back down...
I mean come on I've changed clip ons and tires at the lot by having a friend pick the front end up while on the kickstand ( you know pull on the right side of frame while standing on the left and let the bike rest on rear tire and kickstand only) So many differant ways to achieve what you are trying to do without any special tools...

I always countersteer too.. everyone out there does ,but when you first start ridining like some of these guys you argue and don't even realize when your going fast if you turn the wheel slightly right the bike will go left... It's physics... if you turn left and lean left at that high of speeds.. your going to have problems mang

Re: help a bandwaggoner out
you got a rear stand?
put the rear up and stick a jack under the headers under the support. loosen the forks at the lower triples first, then when u raise it a little bit loosen the top triple, jack it up a lil more n lower ur forks to the original height mark, u should have a mark from factory hright. tighten everything up, wrap it up, check the bolts again, go down the street n around the corner n check ur bolts again

if you really want to be ghetto, have some1 prop it sideways using the kickstand, like you would turn the bike on the kickstand. and u are someone else raise that **** back up.
