put the rear up and stick a jack under the headers under the support. loosen the forks at the lower triples first, then when u raise it a little bit loosen the top triple, jack it up a lil more n lower ur forks to the original height mark, u should have a mark from factory hright. tighten everything up, wrap it up, check the bolts again, go down the street n around the corner n check ur bolts again
good idea. if i can do it with the plastics on that seems like a good route to go?

Yes it can be done with plastics on... thats what the 2X4 is for... and so you don't crush the header.. make sure and raise it up kinda slow, if the jack is off center it can cause it to tip on the rearstand.
