Karate roll when crashing stoppies

I have crashed twice in about 20,000 attempts doing stoppies. The first nothing happened. The second one I broke my thumb. I think I want to learn to roll when I fall so I dont break/sprain wrists. What do u guys do who rock sik rollers 300+? Cause I know I'm going to crash more its inevitable to get that kinda feel on the bp. If u guys do this how did you learn? I was thinking do a handstand on the top of a park bench and trying to roll off of that first. Any ideas?

Re: Karate roll when crashing stoppies

Well when you fall u have time to put your hands in front to break your fall right? Trust me there is time. When your near the bp whats higher your head or butt? Hence the handstand simulates something close to the position your body will be in when you go over. Also a park bench gives you good height comparable to that of a bike.

Re: Karate roll when crashing stoppies

I think the best thing to do is get off the side of the bike if you can, if your rolling them with speed and you flip, let god be with you.

Re: Karate roll when crashing stoppies

I just know that pros who roll sik a** endos 600+ft have been down a lot. You dont get that good without having gone down a lot. They cant be breaking **** all the time. After awhile you got to just say f*** it and quit. That is if u keep breaking ****

Re: Karate roll when crashing stoppies

When you are coming to the end of your stoppie and going kind of slow then yes, roll when you hit the ground. But if you are going like 50 and you grab a hand full of brake and go over, sorry... but there isn't much time to think and YES a 400 lb bike will do MAJOR damage to you so my suggestion is doing worry about tucking and rolling, worry about protecting yourself b/c a bike is going to be coming down on you shortly!

Re: Karate roll when crashing stoppies

u tuck and roll, hope for the best. but if all possible try goin to your left or right. So the bike won't land on you.

Or if your really good you can flip one so fast the bike flys over you.
