Stunt camera?

So, i am looking to get a digitalcamera to shoot some stunts and random stuff on, and i need your advice.

First camera
It's the Fuji Finepix S5600 ZOOM for 400$, and you get a camerabag, 2 GB memory, and several batterys with it .
INFO
http://www.dpreview.com/news/0507/05...200zs5600z.asp

Second camera
Fujifilm Finepix S9500 för 550$, just gotta get a memory card for it .
INFO
http://www.trustedreviews.com/digita...nePix-S9500/p1

Third camera
The Fujifilm FinePix S6500FD för 440$ just got2 get memory card as the second.
INFO
http://www.trustedreviews.com/digita...Pix-S6500fd/p1

Right now, its leaning towards the Fuji Finepix S5600 ZOOM

So, wich one do you think is best fitted for shooting stunts and other random stuff?
If none on the above, give me some suggestions for the same price range as the others!

Thanks!

Re: Stunt camera?

This is the upper end of your price range but I would check out the Canon Digital Rebel XT. http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos350d/ Dont be scared by the list price in the review, it is available in the mid $500 range. i use its predecessor, the Digital Rebel and am very satisfied with it. Going SLR gives you far more flexibility

The company that has it is called RefurbDepot... Never heard of 'em, although sweet price!

EDIT ; FAWK, it was only the camera body
EDIT2 ; Found that they sold it w/ lens

Re: Stunt camera?

Definitely look for a dSLR.
They're faster, more flexible and almost unlimited in possibilities.
And they're getting cheaper and cheper.
My advice's the EOS 350D ( Digital Rebel XT in the US )
you can well get it in a lens kit ( body + lenses ) and some
even offer a twin lenses package ( 18-55 + 55-200 )

I've owned the Fuji S5000, and tried the latter ones.
If you care on focused and sharp sport pics, the Fujis will drive you mad.

I haven't figured out what dSLR is, or what SLR is Explanation?

I've heard that the lense that is on it originally (18-55) is good but not that good for sporting events, race pics etc.

What lense/s do you recommend for fastmotion pictures? Cause thats what i mainly will be shooting.

Re: Stunt camera?

If its a walmart special for 50 bucks, and you can sport it, you like it, and do good work with it, it doesnt matter what everyone else thinks.

BUUT look into vivitar. They make manuel cameras and digital cameras, and thats all i used in school. The digis are nice cause you can quickly change shutter speed, apature, and all that jazz for on the go changes to get crisp pics

Sorry eXtract
dSLR stands for digital Single Lens Reflex.
it's the way cameras with switchable lenses are called:
you have a basic body ( say, the 350D body ) and a whole bunch of lenses
to attach to it. from the widest, fish-eye 15mm lenses to the... well there's no limit else than in one's pocket.
a good set will to cover nearly all ranges, from close distance ( wide angle, 15 or 18mm ) to far away ( telephoto, 200, 300 or more mm )
the 350D may come in bundle with the stock 18-55 lens, wich is a cheapo indeed, but will make decent close-range pics,
and the 55-200 lens for long-range telephoto pics ( or either portrait photography with a nice blurred background ).

Later you'll understand what you exactly need, and buy just the lenses you need:
-remember, a good used lens still holds its value. and sometime you can just upgrade by trading. and this, you can't do that with compact cameras, such the Fujis.

This is the Canon EOS 350D ( Digital Rebel XT) page:
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/co...&modelid=11154

This is their complete lineup. take at look at the lens lineup.
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/co...categoryid=111

Oh, well, i'd have a lens to suggest - my wildest dream, actually -
it's definitely a sport photography lens:
the matter is, you have sooo much to practice
before you'll ever need one of these:

The 300 F4 L telephoto prime.

Upper end of your range would be the Sony PD-150 (or 170). Excellent camera. Not HD, but the color is brilliant. I just finished a shoot with it.

Very adjustable. Allows user mem. card input for configs.

You don't need HD, and this camera SMACKS the SD family. Image is sharp for 720x480. I edit with Final Cut and integration is seemless. Mic is very sensitive too.

Get a couple 1GB CF cards from Transcend or Sandisk. i hate having huge memory cards. they're virtually immortal, but losing a card with 2Gb of the most beautiful pics i have made in a day, that sucks. so, i share.

the best lenses you can get NOW, are the stock lenses. the 18-55 and the 55-200 zoom kit lenses. you can pretty start with them. later you'll find literally NO LIMITS in searching for the perfect lens.

all u need is the 70-200 2.8 L :D
Sorta of. eXtract, look for the Canon EF 70-200 f4 L . that's the basics of the professional L series, yet one of the sharpest glasses ever made.
Or the Sigma equivalent.

Well, when these first came out, I think about $4000. But now they're only a couple thousand new.

EDIT: I might have seen the PD150 barebones as low as $1000.
