I changed my forkseals this winter, noticed the lower fork problem. Took a strap wrench and tightened them up after removing the set screw. they seem fine now.

yes, but u need 05+ rotors. which fit on 03/04 wheels.. other then that its just a slide in swap. ..

I only got a 1/4 turn but it tightened it right up. I also used a 50 inner tube under the strap / on the fork leg, it grabs better instead of just the strap material.

yep good idea ima tighten my **** up ,i am so glad some one took the time to check this out because if you keep them tight i bet you will never have a problem.........

they only brake if there loose and have enough play to wiggle around and hog out the hole ,if you can just tighten them and solve the problem then why wouldn't you ????????

So.... How do I tighten up my forks? Remove the pinch bolts, and check that bolt at the bottom of the fork?

no you actually tighten the part that your axle goes thru on too the fork tube [the chrome part] but there is a set screw that holds it in place so you have to loosen that first....

i havent done it yet but that is what i gather....

That's what I did. I put the part where the axle slides through into a vice. Removed the set screw, grabbed a strap wrench, covered the chrome fork leg with a 50 inner tube, put the strap wrench over inner tube and tightened it up.
