Re: sticky throttle

Or your cables are too tight. Loosen up the adjustment(s) on them and try again.

Re: sticky throttle

Most likely it sticks when the handlebars are all the way to the right, right? And it sticks less or not at all when the bars are full turned left? If that's so, you need to adjust the cables where they cable go under the tank and at the grip. I think it's called the throttle bodies under the gas tank (**** looks like a butterfly kinda) anyways one is your return and the other your pull, I adjust them all the way out and then adjust up at the grip until I have as little play as I can get with out sticking. Then turn your bars fully right and left check for stickage, turn your bike on, turn bars fully both ways make sure it doesn't rev and you should be good.

lubin the cable is, to me, the worst thing u can do, it's the same as MTB ones, the more u lube, the less it'll work.
Check if ur gas throttle doesn't stick with somthin on the left, or with bar plugs, and if it doesn't, change the throttle cable

Re: sticky throttle

It could be somethin really obvious ,like your throttle grip rubbing/ it could be pressed over too far to the left? Check on the other end of the cables ,on the injector side .(spring recoil) ? what did you have apart on the bike ,prior to the incident?

Re: sticky throttle

Take the throttle tube off the bar and try it. If it works fine off the bike the problem is with cable routing or the clip on being too long - therefore the lines get pinched, kinked, etc when the bars are turned one way.

If the problem persists with the housing off the clip on, I would start by lubing the cables, checking for kinks or frays in the line, and making sure your return mechanism is not binding.
Also, when you install the throttle housing back onto the clip-on make sure to throw a little grease on the bar for the throttle tube to slide on.
Goodluck.

i dont know about you, but when im wheelying i dont just let off the throttle, i force it back in tiny increments...a little resistance can be nice, in my opinion, its makes the throttle easier to control.

Yeah that just sounds stupid. From what Gorka and Woods say you want that **** to snap back lightning fast, but then again what do they know...

i jus took off the db bars, tripple and put the clipons on.

and hazen, when i took it off the clipon it worked fine, then when i slid it back on it would stick the grip WAS hanging over the throttle tube but i slid it back and it still did it.
ill check my cables then if i dont get it fixed, ill put a pic up see if theres something someone can see. idk thanks for the advice guys

Re: sticky throttle

I know it sounds dumb, but make sure your bar end isn't touching the grip too much, i've seen it before.
