just picked up an 05/06 636 and about to set it up, my first kawi so i need some help.

1. do the cages from 03/04 work with the 05/06 the frames look the same?
2. anyone running race rails and if so how do they work on the stator side?
3. aftermarket clip ons, suggestions? with the FI clip ons or if u flip the stock ones do u have to cut the front fairing down?
4. any oil pick up issues?
5. does the stock exhuast hold up well to scraping?
6. best hb set up, dual caliper or mc adapter?

any other opinions or info is greatly appreciated.

 

1- cages are different

2- race railz work sweet, i would run either MXD or Sick Innovations

3- woodcraft flipped worked sweet on mine. only trimming to the upper you have to do depends on how far you want the clip-ons turned out

4- no oilpickup issue that i know of

5- stock exaust works great for scraping and ive parked seatstanders on it with no problems. if you go on ebay then you can buy 4 or 5 of them for the price of a twelve bar

6- brembo 16 x 18 with dual caliper setup, or full throttle adapter if you cant get/ afford dual caliper

 

good info, thanks wade. what did you run for gearing, im thinking just like +8 cuz i ride alot more street than i do lot.

 

thats what i had (+8) and was good for combo circles in the lot and street ****

 

yeah...whats he said....but i just flipped the stock clipons tho...they work fine...i've killed my exhaust a few times and haven't had any problems...not saying to go out and gorrilla scrape it all day...but i love my bike it has held up really well

ive had to help rig up a few radiators at the lot on the 05/06....something to consider, def needs some bracing.....

those radiators your fixing... are they on streetfightered or fullfairing 636's? never had a problem with radiator on fullfairing

poughkeepsie ....i forgot my radiator has some serious zipties holding it on....it's held on their really good but thats on bad thing that happened
