Re: 600RR vs. F4i

I've had 954 forks and 1000rr forks on my 600rr.......954 forks seem better to me. They are almost an inch longer and are definately heavier....seem alot more durable!

the same ones both times?

you have to change them. the calipers and rotors on the 954 aren't radial and the 1000rr brakes are radial. And honestly, when bled right you aren't going to feel much difference.....both have the power to flip you over and slam your head straight into the ground. To me it felt like the 1000rr brakes may have been just a lil bit stronger, but at the expense of feel and that inch of fork tube length. When you are running clip-ons on top the triple clamp....that inch can make the diffrerence between working perfectly and bottoming out when you set down an endo from a complete stop.

wanna ride clip on´s.
teach, how´s the RR for looong endoes? pretty fine or does she have a tendency for headshakes?
(i just ask because i´ve seen ruso falling off last year and that just gave me a thought)

i dont really do long endos...max is like 450 no matter how fast or slow i go, but i did get some shake, i dont run a damper either though.

also, the bog i'm referring to is on the gas, not the idle. i can hear it on the f4i, right when you give it gas, it is not responsive and is almost like a lag...the RR doesnt have that, neither does the 636. havent ridden a new r6.

RR is prolly harder to ride for sure, twitchier...but when you can control the twitch, it becomes really fun to ride!

450' with no damper......askin for trouble!!!! I wont even attempt 200' without one! Tell your sponsor to hook you up with a hyperpro or scott's or somin...tell em "I'm TEACH, BITCH!"

The bike is definately alot of fun to ride, and controlling the twitch seems about like controlling it on a liter bike to me, not quite as bad as my 954 on the twitchy factor.

Its a honda....of course its better!

I think it depends on your skill level......for me, an F4i is gonna be better for now and then I can step up to my 600rr in the lot again. If you got the skills and the *****, do it up on a rr. Its just a harder bike to ride for anything in the lot.

Re: 600RR vs. F4i

i think whatever you choose this 3 bike's is sick !! but for me the best is 636 cause is good for the acros and for stoppies , but in the other look honda is a terminator lol

Peace

hahaha, that´s right. my first kawi also got ratty pretty fast. but from the silhouette and the style i think i also would choose the RR. even also because the honda seems to be smaller and easier to throw ´round.

when i remember back to my zx9 and then the change to 929 it was like from a fat powerful bike to a supertwichy small bike but i learned to handle it though.

but now the change to a 6 should be well thought before, but it´s totally different for me.
last year i had a 636rr for a weekend to race, and my opinion first was "no power- weak biatch" but after the third day i was like " wow! i was totally wrong. once you learne to handle it, you can also tease some 900´s"
hahaha, was a pretty funny weekend :-)

anyone any tips (or has there been a thread alrdy?)
I have an f4i and would rather have a 600rr without even ridin' one.
Out with the old in with the new.Better forks, better brakes, better everything.
I know your a clip-on guy,so maybe ridin' position is somethin' to take in consideration.
Angyal, johny do,mokus among many others seem to do okay with it.
Tired of hearin' how like the f4i is like the end all be all of wheelie bikes.

i only roll my endos about 200ft-300ft but i do get some headshake from time to time. i bring it up in the top of 2nd or into 3rd and i dont usually get headshake unless I do something to cause it. i run stock 600rr fork with a db setup now and that seems to have reduced headshake. it is a good bike for endos in my opinion but then again i dont roll 500+ like Matt L or some of the other endo kings. my $0.02
