You take out that little screw on the bottum of the dampner, and move the dampner arm in and out slowly. Then to fill it up you can use a needle to put oil in, or dump the whole dampner under oil and move the arm back and forth till all the air bubbles are gone.

Use 20w fork oil

LOL, that's how I've been telling people to do it......I figured it out first bro! (Jk) I like that you used a gsxr damper, that's definately a cost effective way to go! I used a shindy (or daytona same thing).... It is adjustable wich is a huge improvement. Anyway, good to see like minded people :YEAH

Re: My new steering dampner on F4i & 954 front end

nice work i love it

i used 140w gear oil in mine, still kickin a year later

heres the write up i did https://www.stuntlife.com/forums/444...ht=poor+damper

move the arm in SLOWLY or it will displace the fluid and youll have a dead spot..... and feed the new fluid through a vaccum tube so its constantly fed

Re: My new steering dampner on F4i & 954 front end

rocks set up does not allow the bars to turn the whole way he had to put in stops to keep it from braking

i got a home made set up too but mines not so pretty ,and i also used 90/140 gear oil

Nice set-up Roger but doesn’t Rock's lower triple have stops on it already? I might be missing something here I guess I'll have to experiment and make one up in a week or so. Thanks again for your post up with the pict if the lower tree set-up doesn’t work I'll be looking into making a top style.

yea but the damper he has doesn't allow him full lock to lock so he had to add to his so it wouldn't brake

I'm acually in the process of doing about the same thing with a scotts stabilizer offa my 99 r1... theres not a whole lot of room behind the bars of tge 06 r6, but i have the bracket being machined next time i go to bako

Re: My new steering dampner on F4i & 954 front end

gotta make sure the bracket is made out of something really strong or it will bend trust me lol......i made mine out of aluminum a while back and it bent really easy. im going with steel next. and 140 weight? thats crazy! i had 90 wt in mine it it was way to much. id go with 50 weight gear oil https://www.stuntlife.com/forums/55-...-my-636-a.html
