I dont like ICON anymore

Re: I dont like ICON anymore
Well then it looks like no body is "right" because it seems people have both heard different...So I guess everyone should just go with what they want to believe, me personally when I drop a helmet it becomes lot only....Within reason obviously if it takes a little hit its nothing, but if I dropped it good enough for parts to break off then Im not going to trust it to save my head in a street accident....
Reguardless I dont think any helmet compay should tell you its ok to drop your helmet and keep using it without havin it checked out.....

Re: I dont like ICON anymore
dropping it hard enough for parts to break off isnt really relevant either. By DOT standards, any fixture that takes away from the spherical form of a helmet must be able to come off with less then 5lbs of pressure in the event of a crash using double sided adhesive...you could almost do that by simply holding said helmet by one of its fixtures....

OK first of all ... I was NOT beeing a ******** to them..I just gave my opinion and criticism...guess what...they sell their products and they should be ready to get criticism from time to time..so dont tell me i'm a dick..yeah It's not the most expensive helmet..but I LIKE IT so I would like it fixed..its only a ******* FRONT vent. How the hell you not gonna have a part that only mount on 2 self tapping screws?? i mean it has scews so obviously you should be able to replace it if it brakes because its not mounted permanently.
Whatever...It's not really that big of a deal, but I think it is a issue they could work on in the future.

Visors can break off by just pushing against them...
So its not like if I drop my helmet and my visor pops off, imma be like "omg I gotta spend another $200 on a new helmet!"
I'l keep rocking it tell I wreck and slam my head, or somthing really bad happens to it.

Re: I dont like ICON anymore
Yeah I got the Mainframe Skull too...
the mouthvent sucks ***** - doesn't work worth a shiite - I've ridden in all weather conditions and it does nothing.
I bought the helmet because it was DOT approved, had great range for visibility and it's fvcking badass... I have a thing for skulls.
I'm curious though, have you contacted them? I wonder if they would do anything for ya?

Re: I dont like ICON anymore
Yes I did contact them.. here's what they said.
Hello,
Thank you for your inquiry.
If you are referring to the Supervent, which is on the top of the
mainframe, we do have replacement parts. If you are referring to the
mouth vent, then we do not. Let me know what color your helmet is and I
can give you the part number.
Thank you for supporting Icon!
This is their second email i got from them when i put some CRITICISM on their product.
It was not our choice to not have the part available. This part cannot
be a replaceable part due to restrictions put on us by Snell. You can
go to their website for more information on these restrictions.
They also said.
-I hope that we can work it out as well because it is unfortunate that
such a small piece cannot be replaced.
