Yep.. I have a friend that did it a few years back. 919 motor is basically the same as the 900rr but fuel injection has been added. I don't know exactly what it takes to do, but I know it isn't very much.

I know someone that's done it. It's a bit more complicated than you think, but it's still do-able. You'll have to get an external fuel pump, you'll have to drill the tank and put a bung for a return line. Make sure you get the full wiring harness, brain box, switches, gauges, etc with the motor from the 919. the engine will bolt right up without any changes to the mounts. You'll have to re-work the airbox from the 919 to get it to fit properly under the tank of the 900RR.

Good luck...

Re: Honda 919 Motor in a 97 cbr900rr

brilliant idea - since the 900rr's used the 919 since 96+ but did some HP gains in 96-97, and then 98-99 - how kick *** would the pioneer of all stuntbikes be with a fuel injected motor that started it all!

you need a donor bike that has the power plant so that you can take the wiring harness, plugs, computer & make the fuel pump fit - alittle duct tape, some zip ties & you'll be rockin!
