636 breaking up
its breaking up probably at 10,000rpm & up.No gauges so I cant say for sure.No FI codes. It will rev to redline but just wont pull above 10,000rpm.changed plugs & my gas.Its not the clutch. WTF any suggestions?
The coils maybe? I dont ******* know.Works fine in lots but I took it on the street the other day and thats when I really noticed.

Re: 636 breaking up
check the wire harness right where the rear res was mounted. i never took the bracket off that holds the rear res when i did my handbrake and it chewed a wire grounded it out and made the #1 injector fire at random times.

Re: 636 breaking up
will check into that cause it started shortly after I put the handbrake on.

When I bought my 636 used from a local guy it would do the same thing, I tore the bike down and found a mouse nest under the airbox.....Little bastard chewed throu some wires there and bounced..... Fixed those and everything was good.......

Re: 636 breaking up
At first I didnt even lift the airbox I just lifted the tank and looked at all the wiring, because it was giving an FI light all the time....Then I notice this piece of string hanging out from somewhere, so I start pulling it and it just keeps comming and comming......At this point Ive pulled like 10 feet of string out of the bike from somewhere under the airbox So I pull the airbox off and there is a big wad of string, grass, newspaper, and other random crap infront of the throttle boddies....When I cleaned that out there was like 3-4 wires all chewed up and like 2 were chewed clean through......Little ****** ate so much I had to extend the wires cause they were too short to connect back together....I hope he choked on that plastic and copper and either died or was shitting blood for a week, and hes lucky he bounced before I found his crib...
