f4i wheel on 929
Ive been reading alot of the forums on putting a 929 front end on a f4i and everyone says that you have to use a 929 wheel also. Just by looking at a bare wheel they look identical to a f4i's so i was wondering if the actual wheel is different or if it is the rotors, bearings or what? Is there any way that you can make an f4i wheel work because i have a really nice f4i i wheel that was polished and powdercoated and i dont want to have to do all that to another wheel.

everything must be changed, while your at it get tapered bearings for the steering column, and if you want db bars, I would recoment the 954 or 100rr conversion, or at least triple tree. The 929 triple is slanted and the risers are ungodly.

the difference is the spindle size, im running an f4i front wheel with my 929 setup, You have to machine out the center of the wheel to take the 929 spindle and bearings, and make up a spacer for one side, the disks bolt straight up
ended up costing about £15 instead of £120 for a secondhand wheel

Re: f4i wheel on 929
I doubt it would be much cheaper because I have about twenty hours in polishing the front wheel alone and it cost about $175 to get the set in translucent powdercoat. I would probably have at least $350 in a 929 wheel when all was said and done. If I can get my f4i wheel machined for less than that and save me the work in polishing, it would be worth it.
