Re: chain guard! must see!!!

Is that one solid piece? or are the top and bottom 2 seperate pieces. I couldnt really see the top being necessary.

Re: chain guard! must see!!!

I lost a finger when I was younger to a horse, but it has made me very afraid of losing one in a chain. Especialy after seeing Aaron Brunell's finger. I am also frustrated with the fact that chain guards are on the top where it is mostly useles. the bottum where the chain would pull digits into it is where the guard is needed.

So bottum line is that I would definately buy a guard for the bottum, this is a great idea.

The only problem I see is mounting it, did you have to drill and tap into swing arm? some might be resistant to that.

Anyway, why don't you make a few, polish them, or paint them (i'd prefer black, to match my swingarm) and put them on ebay. I'll buy one.

Re: chain guard! must see!!!

One more thing.....You will have to measure the diamater of the sprocket and make the guards in different sizes.

Re: chain guard! must see!!!

what are guys doing that they're losing fingers, working on the chain with the motor running? i've never worked on a chain with the exception of greasing it so forgive the ignorance.

how much are u thinking about lettin them go for? and yeah, painting them may help sales, although we could just buy them and paint them ourselves.

Re: chain guard! must see!!!

the reason why they put chain guards on the top is to keep the chain wax and oil from flying all over your tail section. but if your like me and clean your bike once a year with a new paint job then it really doesnt matter. good idea on the bottom guard though i thought about making one for myself.

Re: chain guard! must see!!!

I'm not saying it will NEVER happen, but chopping off fingers is pretty rare. Think of how many ppl out there have looped woolies - and a couple ppl have lost a nub?

I'll take my chances, my hands are usually on the grips anyways.
