i didnt want to put it on the tank mount , i have seen some of those and there way too hi , i figured i would kick it by doing cross throughs of special k type stuff, what about those that connect to the front side of the forks and the neck of the frame ????

Re: Hyper Pro Question for F4i w/ 954 front end
don't know anything bout doing it that way, but on my 03 600RR I have a Hyperpro with an 03 600RR mount with a 954 front end. Works perfect! The mounts on top the triple are the same since the same notch and steering stem size are there. Andy from Controlled Insanity built me a new tank mount after I blew my last one up in a lil endo flip. I'll try to find a pic when I get home of the new tank mount, its basically 3/8-1/2" X 1/2" steel for where it mounts to the tank, 1/4" steel for the arm of the mount and 1/2" steel rod threaded for the bolt that holds the damper end. A lil precision welding and some paint and you got a pretty, and pretty solid damper mount(more solid than the one that came with it!).

Actually, you can kinda see it in this pic, I took one of the shindy (aka daytona) dampers. (the long one for 929's ~$150) and then made a couple simple brackets that bolt on to the lower tripple, and front stay mounts on the frame. It is adjustable and out of the way. I love it. It could be a little stronger though, for unlimited approach stoppies I wish I had one more click to make it stiffer. I may consider replacing the oil with a heavier weight, that should do it.

GPR's are awesome, unfortunately with db bars the only way I have seen to mount them is with a huge riser/tripple tree system. It is expensive and as I said huge. I didn't have the money, and didn't like the looks of it anyway. With that said, there is no question the radial scotts or GPR dampers are a better component.

Re: Hyper Pro Question for F4i w/ 954 front end
haven't tried a new style GPR, but my old-style GPR sucked.....almost a 1/2" of play before it would start working and the components were weak soft metal that rounded off really easy. I switched to a Hyperpro RSC and won't go back!

Re: Hyper Pro Question for F4i w/ 954 front end
I mounted a rod-style ohlins to my f4i with a rc51 front end. Cut off the end of a clipon and slide that on the fork. Then get some steel plate and make a little right-angle plate that connects to the frame where the fairing stay mounts. Bolt it up. Works really well and is out of the way.

You got a pic?
