Re: outside looking in
Hmm.. a 2 mph circle wheelie vs. a 100ft gap. They probably take about the same amount of skill, but I'd brag WAY more about the 100ft gap than the circle.
btw- metal ramps are pretty easy and give you perfect approaches. The real stuff is pulling tricks off natural terrain. Check out On The Pipe 1 2 & 3 if you want to see some nasty freestyle!

Re: outside looking in
all the FMX riders ive crossed paths with are normal people too.. some like it and respect it. some dont.
the majority of the are younger semi-pro no-namers and just wanna be the next pastrana or metz...
all the big namers ive met have all been really cool...
different worlds completely.
I had a talk with TJ Lavin a few years back at my old tattoo studio while he was getting work done, and he kept saying how street stunting is crazy (100mph wheelies!?!) while here he is doing dirt to dirt backflips on a BMX bike.. ya.. id take the power wheelie over that any day..

Re: outside looking in
I think pastrana is a little beyond slow wheelies at this point.
