Lighten up!

Ok, Ive decided to keep my 97 900 for a plethora of reasons. So now I want to lighten this tank up and set it up right. I have some time now and with the weather, Im not worried about it being down for a little bit.

I will go streetfighter so Im looking for a headlight...if you got one, post up. Hell, even if its ugly post up...I encourage the whoring of my threads.

Also, I have Vortex clip ons and am thinking about getting rid of them for the fi zero degrees, any ideas?? Or trades or anyone want to buy??

Help me lighten this tank up. Recomendations please!!

Or just talk to your buddy, I dont fckn care! :YEAH

No other ideas rather than flip the vortex andinstead of buying F.I.'s ... saves some money and gets you the DB feel..

Re: Lighten up!

I tried that. They have a weird angle to them. I wasnt sure if i would like it. I will try though. do you keep them under the tripple?? I know on newer bikes everyone is putting their clip ons on top but I think the front of this sits too low to begin with. Not sure if it will work.

Re: Lighten up!

Its a pain in the *** to get an ez, I have to find my title or get a replacement and then sell it. Then buy one. I would but I ride street too much, I need the bigger bike. plus this has the cage, the sprockets, its titled...Its just easier

Re: Lighten up!

I originaly used this just for the lots. When I bought it, the title was salvage. I changed the frame but still have the same set up I did for the lots. Its high for the streets but because its a 900 I can get away with it. I have it -1 +10. I can pull it up anytime.

If your just rockin the streets I wouldnt do to much, its really not necessary.

Re: Lighten up!

the moose has two holes of adjustment for the cable.

the raptor has three holes of adjustment.

i have a raptor and my buddy has the moose. we agree that the raptor is a little easier because of the third hole (more leverage).

the rapter has a rubber gripper on the lever and the moose does'nt.

other than that they are the same.
same perch and same lever length and shape.

Hai has them both at a good price. I got mine like the day after I ordered it.

hope that helps

Re: Lighten up!

i have the moose on my 9, and i love it. 1 finger all day. haven't used the msr so i can't compare. but the moose is def. worth it.

i have the vortex clip ons flipped and under the triple, i like it much better than non-flipped and under the triple. when i had them un-flipped i found they were to low for me, i felt stretched out.

wouldn't mind getting a set of the 0 degree FI though...if you go with the FI let me know how you like them.

how do you like that gearing for slow ****?

The gearing is great for everything. I love it for the lot, and the highway, well like i said you can do whatever. I will let you know what I think of the fi if i get them. I cant bring myself to get db.
