Wow man... somethin is definetly f'd up. Did ya notice if the caliper was gettin real hot at any point durin the day?

How's the fluid level in your resi?

On edit: I just read your post above... i agree that type of riding should not kill a set of pads like that... sounds like you've got a stuck/sticky caliper, and that funny black wear mark on your rotor dosent look right either.

i checked the caliper 2 times all day and it was fine temp wise . fluid is a lil low at the moment from the pistons being out but outherwise it had like a 1/8 '' of air room in the res when i went out . the foot brake is a lil crappy , but im just passing that off as i havent changed the pads from when i get the caliper off ebay .

I am honestly completely ******* stumped...

Re: Feedback on Ho Hey's Dual caliper bracket

hey bro get the double hh pads from ebc. put them on and just do normal road riding for like 30 mins to break in the pads right and see if it still happens.

Re: Feedback on Ho Hey's Dual caliper bracket

ok ...if you did that in one day there was some serious heat.......

if there wasnt then yes those pads are defective ,but by the look of your rotor i would say that your caliper is sticking or your doing 50 mile an hour wheelies and holdin your hand brake ...for a long time

and again i would grind the top part of the pad off so it doesnt ever hit the other side... that could be bad if it happened during a long wheelie

Re: Feedback on Ho Hey's Dual caliper bracket

Is it not an idea to grind the piece of your pads that is not using so you never get the problem that the pads touch each other?
yes what he above me said

Guru what are you going to do?
Keep this setup?

I reaaly want this setup.
the only thing what is strange is going through pads in 1 day
how is that possible?

And how is your wear patern? ho-hey?

Re: Feedback on Ho Hey's Dual caliper bracket

I'm gonna keep mine and experiment w/ grinding the pads.

All the wear patterns are gonna be the same... it's inherent to the design. The pad will not completely contact the rotor without modifying the caliper so it can sit lower on the rotor... but that would involve re-manufacturing the bracket w/ the mounting points adjusted. It's too bad... I really loved the feel and power from the 4 pot caliper.

The new style w/ 2 oem f4i rear calipers should be a complete fix for this particular problem... I just hope it gives as much power and feedback as the 4 piston did. As soon as I get one I'll let everybody know.

Re: Feedback on Ho Hey's Dual caliper bracket

my problem is i know that the setup im running now has more power then the dual rear caliper setup will have. so i want to mess around with mine for a minute. i might just grind down the tops of my pads. im not sure yet.

i really like the feel of this set up.

kj954? your problem is only the top that don't hit the rotor?
the pads don't wear out fast?

No problem with fast wear at all... go back a page or 2 and there are pics of my pads with about a month of use.

Re: Feedback on Ho Hey's Dual caliper bracket

oke then,

I orderd one, but got a pm from ho hey about the problem.
will still take the one with the front caliber.

the problem don't seem so big. only when you waith to long with changing your pads. or just grind the edge away.
