Factory Stunt Support?
https://www.stuntlife.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=175365
i had a thread going that has sumthing to do with what ur talkin bout.
wink 1100 said it best awhile ago people wanna see a show they dont wanna see people who look like they just got done werkin on their bikes with their dirty work clothes on, they want style!
i mean every eye candy show popping entertaing thing i have ever seen has been very clean and well put together, people like bright shiny stuff, i mean look at Micheal Jackson that shinny *** glitter glove helped define him as an entertainer!
up intil this point i had no money to dress the part or have the bike look the part, but i would do my best for every show i did EX. glamour RR Vest, nice clothes shoes bike cleaned and detailed.
but all that was on a budget, i ran into sum$ and put it all into my Bike its comming out lookin like its ready to be in a bike show, not to be stunted, but imma stunt it!
all this depends on your goals, do you just ride? or do you dream of being on a cover or backed and supported? if your goals are big you need to look the part or no one will take you seriously.
example: my bike was the crunchiest piece on my teams and at shows i'd be hittin HC circs combo circs burnout combos etc. basicaly more trix than my team mates could do. but peeps were on their nutz cause
1.there bikes look stock
2.they were more presentable than me
i dunno honestly, in the end all i want is somthing for the mantle that i can look up at when im older and smile at! i want to feel like i accomplished somthing before i Die!.
and what better way to see the story end than with an accomplishment of something i truly love and adore...doing something admirable on a motorcycle!

Re: SSB doesnt like stunts!?
I agree with a few different people on both sides but:
Number one I could care less about comps and sponsors, I stopped caring about that a while back and I have alot more fun now.
Face it, this sport is fun and alot of the tricks are very impressive but it isnt ever gonna draw the crowds or support that high level racing or FMX is for example. No matter how much I love this sport and how impressed with new tricks and watching others ride, It doesnt have that appeal or high level of excitement to keep the crowds watching. I think that it will get bigger but more on the level of street skating. Which is nowhere near as big or as highly supported as stuff like FMX or even vert skating. I agree with *****. All of us will be done riding by the time it gets there.

Re: SSB doesnt like stunts!?
So bassically we should spend all our time making or **** bling blow instead of riding.I think the skill level is what matters most. And you might want to look again at the mag.The layout isnt too good but 90% of the bikes look good.Gary,*****,Drastic Dan,Bill D,Teach,Borne,Rick Payne,T-Neck,Josh Clem, etc.Son you hatten on a lot of very clean and very talented riders.Memo everyone, Call up your 15 sponsors and make you **** clean.I dont think where that special.

Re: SSB doesnt like stunts!?
if ssb doesnt want stunt bikes and only wants to sell magazines, then just cover custom bikes.
what stunt ridin needs is a hard core stunt riding magazine, like slap or thrasher for skateboarding. ssb sounds to corporate now.
and dont get me wrong i love glammer bikes, but i think its stupid to only put the pretty ones in your magazine, especially if you are a stunt oriented zine.

Re: SSB doesnt like stunts!?
i think your worrying about your image too much rather than your talent...which also speaks for why u have alot of sponsors compared to other more talented riders.which i dont knock u for..your a good marketable rider but dont take away from people that dont feel the need to put on a clown suit to get attention...dherz's bike looks like it was dragged down the street behind a truck and people still are amazed at his riding...your outfit shines while others talent dose

Re: SSB doesnt like stunts!?
kane has a lot of good points, and i for one am on the same page as him and have many of the same goals. we do need to look good and do our best to be professional and presentable.
i also think john has it right: the weather was gray all weekend, it is what it is.
i know i gotta work on my 'west coast' gear and lose the thigh highs and llbeans boots lol but my bike had a headlight, taillight, and blinkers. no bar and a sleek fi cage. full fairing with clipons....about as stock as i've seen on a competition winning stuntbike.
lotta good points, but those competing need to be looking good and i think we are presentable, although not nearly as flashy as you wc fools.
peace love and chaingrease
fflf out

I guess I should thank you for the motivation. I'll be out in my 30 degree highs everyday from here on out while you bask in your glory. I can't wait to meet you and your pinkness out in vegas.

Excellent points. I used to love competition riding, but if I had to deal with people that have this kind of attitude all the time, I get pretty fvcking sick of it too.
