I did the same thing on my latest tank job... pinhole leak.

JB weld does the trick every time. You can see it just below the cap in the pics.

Check it out... my best dent yet... not even a chip on the paint :YEAH

i sen this guy named hurricane james big mother ****er to at the spot it wasnt his bike but everyone was talking abut gary needing his tank dented so we held the bike james got into a christ and jumped down on the tank and it was almost perfect one more time and some grip tape n cracks asses tend to be smoother then meatal

jus jb weld it, when i was denting my gsxr tank, it had a dent in the side, so it caused a crack, make sure u mix it very well before u apply it, and apply lightly then after the first coat dries after 24hours apply another bit to fully cover it

does any one ever try using a torch to heat it up first? obvously without gas in it
metal bends easier with heat

Go very slow... lots and lots of smal dents... and don't let the metal bend too much in any one place or you'll get creases and paint cracks.

Ya gotta whack the bottom of the cap in first... very hard hits to get it started... then take it real easy, and move outward from there.

I went for a very mild dent this time... and it came out f*ckin perfect.

heres my tank on the 05 636.. i started right at the bottom of the gas cap& worked the dent around.. i split the tank right in the back where the weld goes up the center of tank.. .. jb weld it & let it set up.. def take your time cause the metal is pretty weak in some spots.. good luck man..
