Non-rider? Meh.. I have limited respect for that, same as anybody. Almost every tandem competitor I know also rides solo. Misconceptions yet to be broken yet I guess.
And I'm not opposed to tandem being permitted in individual. In fact that would let me compete a sheitload more. Bring it on!

Ya know what? I'm damn half-tempted to do a Kane-style Kall-Out. It would be fun. I'd give you boys the list of competition tricks we do, you pair up, do em, and then switch off. Unlike Kane I'm not doing it to say I'm the best of the best, I'd be doing it to relieve you of your blatant ignorance as to what TRUE, COMPETITION LEVEL tandem really is & what it really takes. I guarantee it would be an eye opener!

so what your trying to tell me is that you can wheelie a bike,throttle control,pick up a bike when it falls,sorry babe not to knock you but i don't think your like my girl road rash chic..but prove me wrong show me a video where your controling the bike at all....now don't think i am bashing you or tandem cause i do enjoy it but my point is this your not controling the bike your on the bike while your boy does the work...and yes acros on a bike looks good but your still doing a balancing act while the bike is still controlled by your man WHO DOES ALL THE WORK WITH THE THROTTLE AND BRAKE...

AND I DO THINK YOU GUYS SHOULD GET PAID IF YOU COMPETE BUT DON'T GET IT TWISTED TAKE YOU OFF THE BIKE AND THE TRICKS ARE HOPEFULLY THE SAME AS IF YOU WHERE ON THE BIKE,TAKE YOUR MAN OFF THE BIKE WHERE'D THE TRICKS GO ....I WOULD JUST ONCE LOVE TO SEE TANDEM RIDE WHERE THE GIRL DOES THE WORK... I've conquered Deal's Gap twice this year, can't wait to do Jennings. 2 wheels is still great, but a few months ago I wanted to try getting into up on 1. Can I stunt solo? I don't speak a word on that till I'm prepared to compete. I don't believe in talking yourself up & bragging, just shut your mouth & wait for your sklls to speak for themselves. So no, you probably won't see anything on that from me just yet. Last 2 bikes weren't the best for stunting, had an FZR600 & an Aprilia RS50. Honestly I was afraid to push my luck when I had no cage, bar or sliders when I didn't have the $$ to fix it if I looped it. So I only did some silly F'n around when I had those. I'm working on pulling together what I need to get the bike I want, and it is a stunt bike. In the meantime, Steve has had me hop on the other 'Hawk to start getting used to it. I hate to let potential competitors know whats up our sleeves, but of course we do plan on doing some tandem switching off to solo etc. for future routines. So there you go. I don't know exactly what the rules on tandem categories allow for that, which is yet another reason why I am fine with it getting let back into Indi if you guys ever do get tandem eliminated.

 

BTW I hate it when threads get totally and I don't want to be responsible for dragging this one off course, so just out of consideration for everybody else, should we take this to a new thread? It's become more like "Tandem: 2 B or not 2 B" than "Stuntwars Payout changes" lol!

Kinda goes into what I was saying before.......how many tandem riders are at that level? I don't know, but I guess I'll find out in a few weeks.

 

Exactly. Honestly, I'm actually a little nervous about SW. There should be some pretty serious competition coming out from all over the US if everybody makes it. Taking 1st at Stuntoberfest was great but there was only a handful of competitors for us. I'd say all were pretty damn decent and better than most, and I think the furthest away was from Tulsa & Texas. This upcoming show is much bigger and with a pretty decent payout so I anticipate it should be bringing out the best from most everywhere. A lot of the big comps still don't have tandem category, so this is one of the opportunities for those like us to see who's best.
