the main focus should be freestyle, stuntwars is an individual sport not a buddy buddy jump off, u ride wit ya boys n often times u practice by urself or wit a buddy instead or a group or a totally different group of people, things like longest endo can deal with a cut. we dont come from the other side of the country to do an endo, we come to compete, n the winners should make back at least enough to cover their travel expenses. most people who do freestyle do sub catagories anyways

individual freestyle may benefit from
1st: $5,000
2nd: $4,000
3rd: $3,000
4th: $2,000
5th: $1000

but because endo is a good way to pick up cash
1: $3,000
2: $,2000
3: $1000

if its possible, team sports at $5,000 if possible but teams don't tend to travel cross country.

it may be prudent to adjust marketing to pulicize it more, focus it on a few interviews and competition footage, throw it on a dvd, edit the backing music so u can hear the environment over the music. sell that mess at walmart n k-mart, bike shops, blockbuster video, wherever, contestants sign an image waiver and in the video feature that people and images are personal property and they reserve a right to reproduction lawsuits at their own expense or copyright it and sue on behalf of stuntwars, proceeds go to a bit of pocket change for your hard work and arrange for site rental and payouts initially and then other expenses secondary.

tandem is fine (i guess) but you shouldn't pay them.

 

If anything, get rid of tandem (hahaha Primo and Anita Desiderio...I'm an old skateboarder!) and pay more places further back.

 

yeah, but team is kinda fun to watch depending on the competition, but tandem is pretty much a side area sport because it adds a weight and control complication but id rather watch someone spider around a bike then 2 peopl stand up on it and hold hands while they re-confirm their marriage vowls

I still believe that there needs to be just a little bit more money towards individual freestyle (the foundation of the whole competition), but I kept the suggested amounts in line with the current overall total.

The top prizes aren't quite as high, but based on the number of people competing in individual freestyle and the danger of longest endo, payouts should pay deeper. This also allows a lot more people to walk away with SOMETHING.

The team event should be for fun and not a large sum of money, you should also NOT CHARGE for team. That's the one event where you've paid a **** load of money for and its a ****all event. It would be one thing if people practiced as a team and there was a "team" run, but Vertical Outlaws despite their consistent well executed runs were out scored by burnouts and ****ing off 3 of the years I was there. In other words, nobody practices a team run all year, put the money into the events people practice for. Endo and Individual, the rest is just a sideshow.

you can keep tandems just for fun, show, espectacle, whatever.. but not as a part of the competition. i mean not gettin paid for that

I remember getting 2nd place at a comp a while back that paid more than stuntwars 1st place. Another comp, 2nd place, got paid way more than stuntwars 1st and I got $500 just to attend. Free for all events ****, its all about invite only!!

 

Insted of invite only they should just have two levels like pro and am. Having invite only sucks for the come up guys out there trying to make it. You pros have to know what I am talking about cause you all were at that stage at some point. Stunt wars is a great way for the no name guy to get people to know who his is. I just think that would **** if you took that away.

 

Most other events dont payout on 4,5 different classes, thats why we want to get rid of the team, so we can kick up the individual classes

As far as the invite only, trust me 3 years ago we talked about invite only, that would be so easy for us to take 20 riders and cater to them, than dealing with 200 riders qualifying on sat........ eventually our goal is to have an open January stuntwars in Lakeland, take the top 20 from the individual free and have them tour, then the final back in Lakeland in October, in January do it again, this way every year, new people have a chance to qualify for the year

 

Yes it should be that way, that way they might be able to show some love to the people who have gone there for 4 years straight and always finished top 10! I just cant see big name riders traveling far distances to pay money to compete when other comps are paying more, paying you to show up, never charging you or the crew you showed up with to pay to get in.
