Help With Clutch!!!!

My clutch began to slip.....so i replaced the clutch plates anout a month ago....last week it started slippin again...someone told me check the friction plates they could be glazed....so i pulled them out...put woolbrite to them until i could feel the divits..........its better but still slippin....i adjusted the cable at the cover....it is almost adjusted all the way forward....ALOT BETTER.....but again still slippin.....I didnt replace the springs....could this have somthin to do with it???? need some expertise please

make sure your cable is routed correctly and your lever isnt too tight..i thought it was my plates before too but that fixed it

Probably a dumb question but, did you soak the friction plates in oil for around a day before you installed them? I replaced the clutch in one of my bikes and forgot to soak them. I had problems with slipping until I did.

ok i re routed the cable it was in the wrong place....some one just did my fork seals didnt route the cable back.....but it is still slippin....yea i soaked them for two days..........i took the clutch apart yesterday.......the clutch plates still looked new......then i sanded the steel plates down with wool brite and so on

put in new plates! you should change them every time you put new friction plates in!......it's not the glassing that it the problem, it's that they wear down, and if each plate is wore .10mm you looking at all most 1mm slop through out the pac! causing your slippage.....

why would you just change the clutch plates and not the friction plates? dont be so cheap thats what happens when u half *** the job do it right and the clutch will last u a long time oh always buy oem clutches and fricton plates it will save you money and headaces

ok ill replace the plates......someone told me it did not matter about the plate just sand them down so that is what i did....i wasnt trying to be cheap i just got some bad advice.....ill replace them tommorrow..........do the springs need to be replaced????

Hey man...hope this helps...if ur clutch is slipping, or not engauging correctly it most likey is due to bad clutches and springs...now if ur havin a problem with gettin it into gear thats tranny related, bad shift forks, not ******* correctly from fuked up gears,etc...like the man said before dont cheap the job, u get what u pay for..and make sure install then in the right order after soakin them in oil, the longer the better..thats my

do i need to replace the springs too?im buying plates tommorrow......but if i need springs ill get thoose aswell do you know bout how much plates and springs are?
