Ive been hearing good things about the rr's from you guys. My bike is used as a daily rider as well as a bike I can stunt on. I heard the forks are better on the 05 for stoppies. Like the 929. Is this true or should I save some $ and buy a 03? thanks

 

save your money...front forks a better, but it doesnt really matter

 

The USD forks with raidal mount brakes are better a better setup, but that doesnt mean they make anything easier.....I personally would save and splurge for the 05

 

I picked up 05 1000RR forks for $300 for my bikes(03 600RR, 03 954RR), save the money, get the 03, and get USD forks if you want em. If you do it right and your patient you can find good parts for under $400 for the swap, minus clip-ons.

then compare to standard forks......f2, f3 f4, f4i, 03-04 600RR, older gixxers

measure the fork diameter, then find out what has the same size tubes

 

Inverted forks...I have an 03 600RR with 05 inverted forks, radial brakes, clip ons and triple top...the only thing is now I can't get the ignition to lock to the neck...everything else works fine...not really worth the swap unless you wreck your originalls and get a good deal on inverted ones...

Dude I told you to measure cause I dont know. Anything inverted will be better but then you will have to change your tripple clamps and stuff also.

In all honesty your waisting your time and money, 97 gixxers are crap. Just save your money and get a different bike

gixx had usd since '90...

 

not on ALL of them, at least here, alot of 600 gix's had standard forks for a long time.....like up to 02-03 or somin like that
