Supposedly that was only the old style MSR... The MSR "PRO" raptor doesn't do that anymore.

Re: MSR Pro Rapter is the shizzle!

Yeah... no doubt, they're cheap pieces of crap... but I've had the same moose for over a year now and all I've broken are cable adjusters, the cable pivot thingy and pinch bolts.

If you swap the cheap aluminum adjuster for you original stocker you'll be fine.... then drill out the threads on the clamp to fit some larger bolts w/ nuts on the bottom.

Frayed cables were only a problem w/ the old style MSR's.... The new MSR is EXACTLY the same design as the moose besides the 3rd hole and the thicker end of the lever coated w/ rubber. I check my cable all the time and it's holdin up just fine.

ASV is not the same design at all... it's very nicely made, but not easy to pull. Moose is the only way to go.

Every ASV lever I've felt has been hard as hell to pull.

Re: MSR Pro Rapter is the shizzle!

my buddy has ASV on his bike and i rode it this weekend for about 2 hrs. in the lot b/c my bike is down. it seemed much easier to pull than my stock one but i cant compare it to the MSR b/c i have never pulled one. i guess ill take it from you guys and go with MSR. i do like the fold away design of the ASV but i dont see it being that functional with the lever being so short and inside on the bars.

Re: MSR Pro Rapter is the shizzle!

alot of times a new lever will offer an easier pull even if both are the same, its the freshness factor . I have the MSR the adjustment pivot stripped after 2 weeks of use ...i never fixed it so I have to adjust my clutch every 5 minutes, clutch actuation point changes....maybe thats why im not excelling

I finially listened to my Boy Rick (NASTY) and he was right as usual...It is the BEST!!!! MSR PRO RAPTOR THE ONLY WAY TO GO!!!

No ASV, Not MOOSE, 909, ect....JUST MSR!!! OH!! You have to take the adjuster off and use the stock 929, 954, f4I, adjuster!!!! It works best!

Re: MSR Pro Rapter is the shizzle!

which slot on the MSR is the easiest pull? The little tabs broke off so I'm gonna JB Weld the angle adjuster in place but I'm at work and cant throw it on the bike...its the one closest to the clip-on right?

Re: MSR Pro Rapter is the shizzle!

It's the bottom hole. Why not just try it and see for yourself....

It only takes about 10 seconds to take it out and change to the other hole.

Yeah... that pivot thing breaks and it'll just move around freely.... no big deal. I've been runnin mine like that for about a year now.
