umm it depends slow idle stuff ill cover the clutch just like in that pic, but on the streets ill clutch it up and catch it on engine brake then switch my index finger to the HB and ride it like that since i wont really need to cover the cutch plus it gives me one more finger on the bar for a better grip. I learned with the HB on top and eventually bought the right setup but its easier to do it the right way from the start instead of developing a bad habit. If you try a radial MC it probly wont hit the fork tube and it will allow you to rotate both of them further down, i used the front brake off the 05 r6 its a brembo 16x20 i beive so it doesnt have quite as much leverage as the 16x18 but it was free so im using it till i can afford the 16x18.

you're screwed if you bought one of those masters that have the built in res, then you have to run it on top...
I think John LEGION is the only person I've seen running a HB on top. He only does that on one of his bike but I'm not sure the exact reason

built in master? wtf? who's the idiot???
I was talking about a built in res like this the built in res has way too much height on it. If you try to run it on bottom, you'll either have to run your clutch at really high angle or your hb at a really low angle.
...built in master....

Re: HandBrake Question? Clutch on top? or brake on top?
the built in resivor SUCKS.. i bought it but couldnt even stack my **** where i could get to it. the important thing is FUNCTIONABILITY!!!! if it's on there, and you can use it COMFORTABALLY then it's money (to you anyways) i had a HB on bottom on a bike i bought allready setup.... the clutch posisition was nice, but the HB wasn't (for me) i KNOW it's all in the master you use, and how you stack it, so i will be changing my setup back to HB on bottom whenever i get a radial mount master... for now here is my setup, and i can use it EASILY/EFFORTLESSLY
this is when i set it up... the clutch lever has been cut down now
looks like this now

I like HB on bottom. I think it is much more comfortable. I have an asv lever and it is really nice because you can adjust the lever in and out. I run it all the way out so I have easy access to the brake and i can still grab the clutch easily with my index finger. this set up works especially well when you start slippin the clutch and using the handbrake at the same time.

Re: HandBrake Question? Clutch on top? or brake on top?
yeah my original plan was for the HB on bottom w/ ASV on top since it will fold outta your way when reaching for the HB, and it adjusts easily... but HB on top is pretty sweet right now, but slipping the clutch while useing the HB seems like it would be hard (im not doing that yet.. i gotta use 1 or the other)

Re: HandBrake Question? Clutch on top? or brake on top?
Rode with streetfighterz this past weekend... I remember right all of them except one had the HB on top... I dunno it seems more comfortable to me on the bottom and I can use both at the same time.
On another note who puts the clutch on the inside toward the tripple?? and who puts the HB inside toward the tripple??
I have tryed both ways and see advantages both ways... Think this also matters with what type of bars you have IE: stock clips, F.I. clips,DB
