If your subframe bolts aren't tight you will break your sh*t without crashing. Do that and $20 worth of renforcements will fix that problem. Live and learn.. All I hear is crying about breaking little sh*t and all your solutions is, change your bike brand. KNOCK THAT SH*T OFF!

3 motors in a year?? There are many different things you can do to fuc up your sh*t. I've seen people go through 2f4i motors i one year while I am still on my origional motor it came with in 2000.. It just might be you, not the bike brand that is the problem.. But of course none of you will admit that, you'll just blame it on the bike..
Well Stuntmonkey was talking about me breaking the subframes. I do agree with you that all bikes have problems and do break some things. I broke my first subframe from scraping the bar and doing endo's with one of the subframe bolts missing and the others were sorta loose. I didn't think it would matter at the time and found out the hard way. The second one I broke was just the first one rewelded, and we all know that $hit doesn't hold up. I now have the rearset braces on and haven't had a problem, even gorilla scraped with no problems, as far as subframes go my other friends got a 636 that has already started cracking in one of the tubes. The guy with the 3 engines in an 05 model is not how it sounds. His original motor had a top end problem from running it low on oil and then doing interstate wheelies. The second one was an e-bay engine that was ticking very bad when installed, he pulled it and took it and had some half azz work done and reinstalled it, well the ticking never really went away and a few weeks later it had a cam chain come apart. prolly had a tensioner problem to start with. He now has a fresh engine and hasn't had anymore problems. Gixxer's are not bad bikes, do hold up pretty good and have just had a bad rep. Some of the big guys have F4i's so everyone just thinks it's the bike to get. Myself I would rather have a bike I am comfortable with and holds up well. I am not saying the gixxer is that bike, just not a bad bike. I personally would rather be riding a 600rr than any of them. Out of all the bike I have rode I have liked it's feel the best.

Re: finally switch to f4i

I agree with most of this....I'm still rocking my 03 gixxer 1000 and for the most part luv it. Yeah I had to spend some $$ to get the subframe re-enforced but so what..its strong as hell now. Keep the bolts tight and you are good to go..
I have been close a couple of times of moving to an f4i or 636 but have resisted. I rode my buddy's 05 gixxer 750 stunt bike the other day and couldnt believe how much lighter it felt ! But at the end of the day my 1000 has treated me good..So not sure its time to make the switch just yet..

Cheers

That's what I mean.. Different bikes getting a bad rep cuz people post up ignorant sh*t like - Blew 5 motors, broke 3 subframes in 1 year. When obviously they didn't have their pile set up right.. Just a lot of bad info and advise going on around here that causes new stunters to get rid of this, buy that and end up spending a lot of time and money when it's unnecessary.

Not sure that long wheelies and scrapes have an effect with oil in the airbox or having to get a pick up.. I believe it when you drop it on the left side maybe both I can't remember and it rolls up and tips ova a bit the airbox gets oil in it quick. There are 2-3 dirfferent ways to do it. There may be a thread in help and how to, or just ask someone on here.. This is F4i Life!

I figure just ride what you like or what you learned. I personally am a Honda guy and have always liked Honda's, so I find it fitting that I like stunting Honda's only. If you ride Gixxers and that's what you are comfortable on, then do it. But the fact is, from 2000-2003 some of the best stunt bikes were F4i's and Gixxers. Now, (other than Yamaha) Honda, Kawi, Suzuki, even Triumph and Buell have great stunt bikes b/c of technology.

It happened to my F4i I had tipped it on the left side while it was started and I was laughing and talking to my buddy while it was still started for like 30 seconds. When I lifted the bike back up it stalled and full of oil caught in the airbox. I had to take it apart remove all spark plugs crank the motor to get all the oil out. I didn't know there was a mod or a fix for that? Is that what your saying?

Re: finally switch to f4i

Easy fix for Hydro problems............Look up the term "CATCH CAN" on any racing site! Racing has been doing it for years.

I loved beating on my old Gixxer1 for 4 years.....but after riding any of the new 600's I gave in and got a F4i.

I only gave in after the bike blew the motor........it had a good life....2 frames....2 motors...subframes...frametabs.....rims. Was just time for a new bike.

Probably alot of mental confidence.....but with less torque and rotating mass......there is a definate diferance. But I definately would get another litre for a street stunter tho.

Yes, like I said there are a few different ways. One is the rubber hose that comes from your motor to your airbox, which is where the oil is coming from. Disconnect from airbox and you can either re-route it to a hose in front of the air box, to another hose, don't know exactly wich one, that routes the oil back into the motor. The other wayis to route the hose into a sealed 20oz coke bottle so it over flows into that. I don't know all the details since I didn't hold my buddies hand while he did it... ha ha.. I know there were a few threads made on the subject in help and how to in the past..

The main key is when you lay it ova, turn it off and pick it back up right away.

You refering to the PAR valves? They run off of the valve covers and are connected to the airbox by two rubber hoses. I know some companies sell block off plates for removal of the PAR valve crap.

Probably, I believe there is only 1 big hose that goes to the back of the airbox, so that's got to be it, that sounds like the better way to do it.

Yeah that can't be the best way, but I've seen that in a thread with pics on here as one way to do it.

Don't forget to do the mods to help prevent hydrolocking by getting oil in the airbox... When you blow a rod and you have a chunk missing out of your block you will once again be bikeless.. The F4i's break just as much if not more than any other bike, just depends on how hard and how often you crash... If you don't have some custom extended sliders it's going to roll up on your controls.. So make that mod too.
thats 100% im one of the rev limiter kings ive blown hundreds of tires and kept going till ive eat them lip off of i dont know how many rims and have yet to blow my f4i.............i run AMSOIL in evrything including my gsxr's in which i blew 7 yes 7 motors in one year .thats my and my exsperiance to each his own but i love my f4i and im getting ready to get a 636 ill let you know how that goes:YEAH
