So I am workin and I think to myself when is good good enough? How much farther of a wheelie do I really need to prove to myself? How bad do I need to hurt myself before I am happy with stuntin. Dont get it twisted I aint quittin. I know I could never quit stuntin. I love it too much, plus I need to get the slow stuff down. I also know I will prolly never make any money at this. And the biggest haunting thought is that I screw up and kill myself.

I have heard of people quitting for a bit and then coming back. I am just wondering if any of you have ever felt like this?

Your head is in the wrong spot.. Sucks to think the way you do. One if that was not good enough, then do it highchair or spreader, not to show off, but because it feels good. If a measure of how happy you are is how hurt you are,, then your weird. And i know there wouldnt be a better way to go then dying doing something i loved. So if thats how you feel.. get out of it.. your in it for the wrong reasons..

Yup, riding=life...it's involved in everything I do from going to work and being 'that guy'.... to riding a wheelie in the middle of nowhere because I can.

From making a DVD to rebuilding a fvcking gsxr engine 3 times, beacase it enjoys blowing up in all sorts of creative ways.

It's even fun saving and shopping for a new shiny f4i.... Take your time, put some effort into it, don't worry about getting stuff on lock all the time. And before you know it, you're amazing.

I love it all. Except for this damn motor.

Re: do you ever get scared?

I Get Scared Sometimes... But Its A Fraction Of Second... And It Never Happens When Im Riding.. Example... I Rode A Km Long Ss Down My Town Cementery Road... When Suddenly 3 Dogs Came From A Ditch And Crossed The Road Running And Barking 5 Meters Ahead Of Me (me @ 80kph Standing On The Seat...on One Wheel) I Showed Off For All Those Old Ladies Then I Settle My Bike Down...

****... The Fun Part Is That Something That Gets You Scared To The Bone Today... Will Be Like A Joke In A Few Months... I Call It Progression Some Psicologists Call It Insanity

Re: do you ever get scared?

To me getting scared, is more like a reality check, like, "hey, i could really hurt myslef, or get killed", I don't think about that everytime i start my bike up, but sometimes that thought does cross my mind, and i do chill out for a bit, but then i think, people get hurt and killed a million different ways, so i go right back at it. Hell, my luck, if I ever stopped riding, i would probably die in a plane wreck or get hit by a bus crossing the road? So yeah, i get scared, but that's part of respecting the sport and your mortality. My A$$ will never leave the saddle as long as I am physically able to ride. this is just my .

Re: do you ever get scared?

Well I think everyone has fear to some degree or everyone would just be getting hurt more than normal. In regarding to riding you chip away at that fear by doing things in steps. I think people have fear cause they don't want to get hurt. I wouldn't wanna get hurt because that's time I won't get to ride and do things I enjoy. I personally learned a few years ago that you can't just pu55y foot through life and worry about dieing. I used to be sorta scared to paddle out to go surfing when I first started cause of sharks but I was like you can't just run from those things and just not get in the water period like I know people to do. You can walk out to get your mail and die. **** this guy here other day just got here and was hit in the neck by a stray bullet..**** happpens might as well laugh at death than be afraid. I was walking to the gym earlier this week and mortar went off about 1/4 to 1/2 next to the trailers outside the walls which issued small arms fire.I thought oh might be some stray bullets coming by since one went through a trailer couple weeks ago and was a little timid but then I'm thinking WTF if I get it it's time to go anyhow so I just walked out in the open as I normally would. You only have one life and you might as well live it as you see fit.

Re: do you ever get scared?

You will know when it is time to quit (if ever). It will be a difficult descision to make but when the time comes you know what is best for you. It may be because of money, physical pain, mental pain, family, or whatever else but just listen to your thoughts.

As far as getting scared... I have never been scared. I just have a lot of Oh **** moments followed by a stink in my pants.

Re: do you ever get scared?

I don't know much about mortars and stray bullets but riding shouldn't be something you put this much thought into. I've taken time off for school, buy a house, work, and once just because I got sick of the same b/s. One thing I noticed is my head has always been in it. I was one of the first people in my area to do hc or spreaders even stand up's. Before FTP!!!!

Now I just turned 30 and any time I get on the bike I feel the same way I did then. I could careless if people are around watching or if Im just on a nice stretch. It's about releasing stress doing something you fucin love, something people think is crazy, don't do it because everyone else is. I may slow down a bit, but I will stunt until I can't, my kids some day will stunt Love it or leave it. I'm the only one in my original crew that still rides. Riding has been the best thing I have ever done if I get hurt fuc it, it's better than getting hit by a drunk driver on the LIE or getting shot because someone is having a bad day.

Love it or leave it.....no room for the weak

Re: do you ever get scared?

I think there is a level where we all get that scared feeling doing this stuff.......but as one person said.....that's why we do it....if it was that easy and wasn't scary or crazy everyone would be doing it.........And if your that scared and think about crashing....take a break man.......if you think about crashing.....your gonna crash........it happens.......I know the more I thinkk about something the worse it is.......if I think ok I'm going to scape my tail, can't do it but if I just say f*ck it and do it.........I'm like a rockstar.......Don't cloud your mind with bad thoughts man......just ride and love it.....just my

Re: do you ever get scared?

Yeah I was just putting that into perspective and how some people are always thinking or worrying about dieing which ties into the whole fear factor.. I honestly thought one day why the hell am I putting all this money into something but honestly i wouldn't think of anything else I'd rather do. Atleast I'm not wasting money on a girl least with my money i use it to become a better rider and i'm having fun in the process

Re: do you ever get scared?

I dont think you should ever stop being scared. Being scared is what keeps us from going over board. The day you stop being scared is the day you do something stupid and end up in bad shape.

Re: do you ever get scared?

YEah I get scared when im not riding, but just sitting around thinking about it sometimes. But when riding it doesnt happen unless I almost lose it in a bad way. Ive been lucky so far with stunting, no major injuries. It is the same with snowboarding, its scary to sit around and think about what could happen, but not when riding. A few years ago I started to get scared when big flips were blowing up, like when is this gonna stop. then I broke my back and took a few months off. Came back stronger than ever and my progression was way faster after not riding for a while, guess it just gets you restoked on the sport. Ive broken a few bones over the years, ankle(a couple times skateboarding), collar, few vertabraes, and still the only time it bothers me is when im not riding, or when the ooooohhhhh fuuuuuccckkk factor hits!!!!! If this aint livin what is fellas. :YEAH

Re: do you ever get scared?

Ive had pretty bad wrecks, no major injuries thou. Thank my lucky stars.
but yeah think about that often, that one of these days its gonna be real ugly. Thats only thought that scares me. Cops dont even get the heartbeat going anymore.

BTW last night some pick up diver pulled into my lane on freeway, I shoulder hit his side mirror hard, it still hurts. That didnt really scare me, I was like mmmmhh whatever. WTF is wrong with this mentality?
