01 F4I w/ 954 front end problems
I just picked up an 01 F4I this weekend. Decent bike, has the 954 complete front end on it. The front wheel doesn't like to spin, so we took the brakes off and whaddya know, the wheel spins just fine. Any one had this problem? Any idea what would be wrong with the brakes? Maybe something with the mount?

clean the calipers........ push them most of the way out....... NOT ALL THE WAY..... clean and lube...... reinstall.......you have 3 poss probs..... rotors, calipers and spacers........ just do all three or take it one at a time...... dealers choice.

Re: 01 F4I w/ 954 front end problems
I did the 929 front end conversion on my f4i except I used 600rr calipers. They appeared to be the same as 929 calipers so I bolted them up, but then bam, they pulled the rotors out and bent them. Not the same spacing I don't think, I put washers between the fork and the caliper to change the spacing and got it to work. I marked the high spots on the rotors and kicked them in. I got everything working pretty well, but so much for doing things the right way.
I guess the conclusion is that, the calipers could be 600rr calipers instead of 954, or the axle spacers are wrong.
Just be careful not to bend the rotors!

If 600rr calipers are bending your rotors.. something major is wrong

i bet when u you were spiking your hair with level 5 hold gel combined with moose before u go do freeway 2nd gear power wheelies you dripped some onto the rotors and its causeing friction
ps: make sure there is none on your sandles before u go ride.

If i took the f4i on the highway and did second gear power wheelies i would get run over for going 40 mph.
But thanks to everyone else for the serious input. We'll be working on it tonight.
