Exposure is way over rated!!
Ok so I've done lots of shows for free in the past, **** I still do them sometimes. I remember doing shows because the promoter would try and pump the exposure factor way up cause I wasnt getting paid. What a bunch of **** that is. I got my website and the store section for buying videos etc. While back I did a show in Tacoma WA for the monster trucks. The show paid barely enough for me to make it there, hotel, gas etc. Over the whole 3 day weekend there was somewhere around 70,000 who attended, fri, sat, sun. The Mc was pumpin Servinitup.com the whole time I was riding. I figured when I got home I would have some orders from that city and I did, one order! Same thing with FMX in Arizona, 30-40,000 people over 2 days. Got like 2 orders or so and they were probably local people that hung out at the parking lot. So I was just on the front page of the Sf chronicle in the upper left hand corner next to Terrell Owens and had a full 2 pages inside. That paper goes nationwide like the NY times. Millions have to see it. Got like one order that day from a guy in SF. Now I'm sure lots more people know my name and stunt riding in general from it but none thought wow that is crazy I'm gonna check out the website and maybe buy a vid so I can see what it's all about, nope. Any thoughts?

Re: Exposure it way over rated!!
its difficult man, unless you get a super famous actor to star in a blockbuster about this sport or that features this sport. Maybe at that point people will give it a 2nd look and actually will $ on merch. Everyone who knows about this sport, most likely has all the videos and merch already. Fresh ppl are wierd that way, try to get on a morning show or a late night show. ****, call kimmel or lenno, get em to book you.

The thing that su(ks is that you didn't get many orders... That kinda dents your faith in this sport becoming greater than its current state, BUT...the fact is that you have put stunting out there in a positive light in a truly massive way. It is a fact that more people are educated to stunting. It has been a long time coming, but it's really exposure of that nature that allows our sport to snowball into something larger. Look at it like this: Skateboarding blew up in the early eighties and died off QUICK. The faster it blows up, the morelikely it is for companies to exploit it, blow it out, then the bottom drops out... We build it up slow and solid...well then we're more likely to stick around and end up with longer careers (if we can get it to that point)

ya that was wierd with skating. I remember when it first hit I was like 6 or 7, there was a few skateparks around then they all dissapeared. It came back when I was around 12 but then died out again but came back even stronger. I dont see our sport dying out at all. It's way too much fun and lots of people are doing it now. Just have to wait and see I guess but man I'm not getting any younger and if I got to wait much more I'm gonna end up bieng a judge! But honestly I really dont care if it ever does go super big, it's not gonna make it any funner and I would never quit cause it's not mainstream. Its done more than I ever imagined as it is.

Re: Exposure is way over rated!!
People on other forums like say speedvision.com say that stuntriding isn't enough of a competition like racing and gets boring to watch really quick. Not enough head to head or adrenaline pumping hanging it out on the edge like some of the other sports.
I love it and it pumps me up just watching a video but that's because I've tried it and learned it the hard way and realize what risk it takes.
These other people don't know the dedication that it takes to do it and probably never will.
I was holding on to this idea so I could be the one to make millions (YEAH RIGHT! ) I think the best thing that could make people realize what it takes is a Reality TV show. Take a selected group of riders from all across the country and put them all in one house as they learn and practice to be....."America's Top Stuntrider" :YEAH
Vote them off as you go and all that drama. Hell you can't help but get into some of these reality shows and I know they can't have half as much Drama as Stuntriding
