What happened to stunt riding?
Stunt riding to me is an artist expression with a fair amount of anti estabisment overtones.Maybe its just me.I took a few years off from the game when it was all FTP now its all about getting permits, insurance & permision slips?90% of video clips posted are parking lot footage. What gives?People are setting up bikes just to ride in lots? What happened to stunt riding?

Wave of the future, kinda following the path of skateboarding and such. Turing more into an actual sport than just rockin wheelies down the E-way for fun.

Its all in taste and style. The art of stunt riding is big enough for everyone to have there favorite variation. Some like acros or highway stuff and some like lots. Some like it all.But from a viewers standpoint rocking circles in a parking lot is not an entertaining watch. After the 10th rotation it gets kinda boring.
I guess thats just a diffrence between me and the rest.Since you mentioned skateboarding thats a great example of two comp variations of the sport.Street and vert.Vert is boring to me compaired to street. There are only so many things you can do on a vert ramp.Add the same tricks you can do in vert and add them to a bowl or a street course.
Bottom line is to me.Circles are boring unless done in a intersecion or with variation or combo's.Foot in the bar circles were perfected 10 years ago.Move on.I grew up on starboyz so this empty warehouse lot **** bores the **** outta me.

The sport has moved way way passed the old boaring FIB slow circles.....
As for new tricks.....watch any multiple of the riders out there now. They're making the riding look fluid and entertaining to watch. Not just your average circle or straight line combo anymore.

Re: What happened to stunt riding?
pretty sure people post there practice vids to show progression.. the same guy that has the 30 second choppy circle video might have just started stunting 2 months ago and is proud to be progressing in something that he loves to do.. and im not hating but can you do a circle? or just highway whoolies.. i was riding balance point **** 3 months into having a bike.. and lot **** took me way longer to learn so there is alot more skill to riding in a lot then on the highway. but to each his own.. cops were alot more easy on us back in the day.. now the fines have gotten so big i just say **** it.. impressing some chick in an civic by doing a wheelie just isn't work 400 bucks to me anymore.. and i've had my share of suspensions, revoctions(sp) and fines.. thats why I personally went to lot riding.

Re: What happened to stunt riding?
MOmmy? Scott up in canada has lost like 3 (I think) bikes so far to the fuzz. I'll be damned if my riding in a lot is anything like "mom's supervision". There's a lot of great riders, new and old out there. it's the "sport" changing, like it or not the train has left the station.

Re: What happened to stunt riding?
i have my lic taken away for a 6 months and then a year because of stunting on high and back roads. they hide so much better now and ****. parking lots are the only places where we don't have to deal with them. so pretty much u do what u got to do so u still can have fun out there.
