Its also about a step up in skill, rocking long highway **** is fun but don't create the misconception that no one can kill streets now - because the same wig splitting **** can be carried over into the streets, but its about the choice to not do it. Not all of us need to feed some internal need to try and be "anti-establishment".

Re: What happened to stunt riding?
I like to ride in places that i know im not gonna get a bunch of tickets.. plus it helps to learn in a place where you dont have to worry about gettin hit by cars if your wreck and a spot to hang with your friends who also love the sport. im happy with the sport now and where its going. I also think it got better.

Re: What happened to stunt riding?
Street riding is not a sport and never was.. Lot riding which is what is done comps and shows is why it is pretty much a sport now.
Is it just me, or are pretty much all the ones crying about no street riding are the ones not competing, placing, and also whining about acros and other parts of the sport other than wheelies. Stop whining and hating and go practice, or just keep riding the streets and tell all your friends how much more gangster you are because of where you make your wheelies.

Its all in taste and style. The art of stunt riding is big enough for everyone to have there favorite variation. Some like acros or highway stuff and some like lots. Some like it all.But from a viewers standpoint rocking circles in a parking lot is not an entertaining watch. After the 10th rotation it gets kinda boring.
I guess thats just a diffrence between me and the rest.Since you mentioned skateboarding thats a great example of two comp variations of the sport.Street and vert.Vert is boring to me compaired to street. There are only so many things you can do on a vert ramp.Add the same tricks you can do in vert and add them to a bowl or a street course.
Bottom line is to me.Circles are boring unless done in a intersecion or with variation or combo's.Foot in the bar circles were perfected 10 years ago.Move on.I grew up on starboyz so this empty warehouse lot **** bores the **** outta me.

The other part is, people who want to see this sport become more mainstream are trying to be adaptible and finding out the process involves a lot of compromise.
Even if you don't agree withthe direction, and I agree it's a shame to see part of your sport being "taken away" but at the same time, how great will it be to eventually have major network attn and real money sponsors?
For those who aren't into the pro angle, the streets, cops and hospitals are all still there, and if you make the vids the stunter crowd will still buy them and enjoy them. Thing is, if someone else has changed their focus, you can't really expect them to change it back. You can either be disappointed, or step up and start doing what you miss seeing. Be the one.

Why don't you do a search and you can find 3000 threads on this same subject . I think you were hoping everyone was going to hop on your bandwagon. Maybe you just didn't have anything interesting to post. Anyway, although I like how street stunting looks in vids and once I get better I will probably do it myself, my opinion is that street stunting is like your posts in this thread, it brings nothing new to the table. Someone explained it real nicely in another thread about this same thing when they said, "the lot is the practice, the street is the show" or something like that.

+1 don't be mad at others cause you can't turn a circle 1/4th the way.

Stick to your same boring standups on the hwy or the all fame'd knee in the seat wheelie.

Its also about a step up in skill, rocking long highway **** is fun but don't create the misconception that no one can kill streets now - because the same wig splitting **** can be carried over into the streets, but its about the choice to not do it. Not all of us need to feed some internal need to try and be "anti-establishment".

it's the same as someone hitting a big jump on a fiddy. you see it, aren't really impressed because it doesn't LOOK hard. but what you don't see are the hours upon hours of practice the person put into it.
and as soon as you seriously give it a shot, and see that where you are now is miles behind it, your attitude towards it changes.
it still might not be much to watch, but the amount of respect given for it is increased.
