I was just wondering (this may sound dumb) some things about used bikes. The reason I ask is because all the bikes ive ever bought have been brand new so I never had to worry about looking at milage or anything like that.

Im going tonight to look at an 02 R6 with quite a few miles on it (i think). Its in pretty good shape (not that it matters) and I think the guy might be down for some price negotiation cause its been on the local bike forums for a while now.

Im gonna go tommorow and look at a 2000 R6 with only 5000 miles on it in good shape but the guy is pretty set on his price..

So my first question, what are a lot of miles for a used bike?

Second, does the miles on the bike make a difference due to the fact its going to be stunted?

I dont know why but for some reason I like the 02 a little better (dont ask why?) Would one year be better than the other for stunting (i know its the same bike, maybe one year has some kind of quirk about it that another doesnt?)

It all depends how its been treated. I had a f3 with 48,000 miles thats ran great and I have a gsxr with 11,000 thats has no stop problems. Just ride it and check it out really good before you buy it..

ya man stunt miler are worse, but otherwise 20000 is a few miles but i still wouldn't worry about it if you want it as a daily driver but if it's gonna be a stunt bike for you then bet something with like 5000 on it to begine with

The 02 has 18k miles on it, I talked to the guy and the way he talked was he's a **** about using the best oil and doing all the services on time and all that garbage. Im gonna go check it out, if I can get him down a few hundred ill prob. buy it.

Also, anyone for the Trans. problem thing? That would be a sh!tty thing to have go out..
