strange f4i issue,check it!!!!! can u help!!!!

I just replaced the plugs and after an hour of riding sunday pulled them out to inspect them. Basically #2 and #3(middle two) got real dark while the #1 and #4(outside two) are looking like new. Plus #2 gets soaked and fouls out after close to an hour (it was much sooner like 15 mins with the old plugs I cleaned and reused) I cranked it over w/ all 4 plugs pulled and no excessive fuel squirted out. While I was riding it on 3 cyls. sunday it felt like on all 4 for a breif moment when slipping the clutch at high rpms.

Heres the deal-01 F4i,5400 miles, sat for 2 years. Cleaned out fuel injectors and fi system, new plugs, fresh oil/filter. ran 5+gallons of 91 with 44k AND gummout fi cleaner w. the second tank.

Oh yeah, so only my N and FI lights are working on my gauges, before the where fine??? and when I take the key out, the FI light is on very dim and a few lines in the lcd display.

Anyone have or see anything like this?

I'm hearing "stuck oil rings" here and there. One guy mentioned running 1 pint of diesel in a full tank, that usually works, just smokes a bit till its run through.

Re: strange f4i issue, check it!!!!! can u help!!!!

DO NOT run any diesel in that bike..... trust me... not even a pint, diesel is loaded with crud, thats why your supposed to chang a diesel fuel filter every 15K miles ..... not to mention it will drop the octane rating of whatever is in the tank..... by a significant amount...
What I think it is is your fuel pressure regulator, it will have the symptoms you describe... yes it only screws up the 2 cyl.. thank the honda engineers for that...

second possibility (if regulator is ok)

If your gages are acting weird.. I would make sure that your coil on these two cyl is not dropping out.... you could be having electrical problems, with the miles and the fact that its only fowling two cyl and the others look great i doubt its the rings.... check if your losing spark and check to make sure all the connections are free of corrosion.... and remember some times a plug can spaqrk on a weak coil just fine outside a motor, but will drop off when exposed to the CYL pressure..

It was funny. I wasn't there to see it, but I was getting the play by play over the phone. I would get a call, tell him to check this and that, and then call me back. I think after the 4th call, I got to hear about the gas geyser. HAHAHAHAHAHA

a dirt bike scotts damper on a r1 set to 100x hard blew off the ajuster and shot me directly in the eye with a 1000mph jet stream of damper oil, felt my eye lid expand from my eye socket filling with the oil. alot better then gas though

Re: strange f4i issue, check it!!!!! can u help!!!!

Im having a similar problem as well... #2 is giving me nothing, #1 is giving me about 50% and #3 and #4 are running fine. I tried swapping recitfiers, plugs... even swapped injectors... nothing helped... checked electrical to plugs and injectors... all fine... someone suggested it might be a bent or stuck valve (or a few) as the palm suction test on the intakes (threads on my pressure tester didnt fit) showed very weak suction on #2 and mildly more on #1... started doing this about 5 minutes after a good hit on the cage... ran fine, turned if off... sat for 10 minutes... started it up and now is running on 2.5 cylindars it seems... she's in the shop now... hope the engine isn't totally fawked...
