Tank wheelie (spreader) problems

Background info.. last year i looped a spreader on my 954 and havent tried them since.. i sold the 954 and bought a 636, i do not want to dent the tank until i HAVE to... i started trying them clutching 2nd up on the 636 now and i tend to slip off the tank, i do not have a handbrake so these are by no means BP wheelies when im not covering the brake...

BUT.. my questtion is has anybody put grip tape from a skateboard on their tanks? does it peal off easily with goo gone? functionality?

thanks in advance for any advice regarding spreaders and tank wheelies....

i should buy a handbrake i know, im just not there yet...

Re: Tank wheelie (spreader) problems

you dont need a handbrake.. and if your going to be trying spreaders.. dent that **** in!!!! learn bp good and how to float your bike spreaders may be weird at first with the new body position your balance is off but practice and if you fall.. get back on and ride

Re: Tank wheelie (spreader) problems

wow, um learn bp before spreaders, and you don't need a hb to do a bp wheelie... dent that ****, just take the plastic cover off, pound down the metal tank, then heat gun the top plastic, so it dips in,, do it in 1st gear.. more engine brake.. and yes, i think everyone and their mother uses grip tape

Its alright... only lived in Pocatello, Idaho and visited a number of other towns so dont have a lot to compare to. My aunt lives in Cheyenne and I have only been there once.

THere aint anypeople here that can ride like other places...
