I really like having a slip on pipe, but having a stock air filter. I ran a K&N, that sucked for stunting. Great for riding on the streets, but shitty for stunting.

aaaaannnnnnnnn wrong.....back pressure doesn't have anything to do with torque on an f4i....

Re: put your stock exhaust back on your f4i

i do notice f4i is way more responsive w/stock. i just went out and put my old m4 highmount on and banged round the block a lil bit and its like a diff bike...sounded clean but didnt like the response on idle, felt like crap.

your trippin, it's has everything to do with bottom end! All motors are the same and they will all make more bottom end torque with more backpressure!

Re: put your stock exhaust back on your f4i

the stock pipe is like a maze inside. On my kawi it goes through a baffle, to the back ,then halfway back, then back out the end. talk about back pressure! weighs about 100 lbs too! and it's total gaylordism

Re: put your stock exhaust back on your f4i

stock pipes look like junk and sound ghey. A nice aftermarket pipe is music to my ears, even my ghetto one looks better than stock.

I noticed the back pressure thing a lot on my fiddy when I got a BBR full pipe, so I chopped the stock core and hid it inside so I still had the sound/look, with a bit more backpressure and it runs and looks good

it's the exhaust design...more importantly the size for scavenging and velocity...it is matched to the stock motor for all around power not just high end. aftermarket pipes might "add" power but only in the mid to top end....an exhaust system on a bike doesn't really "add" power it shifts the power curve of the motor. it's just a compromise....

on cars it's a little different because they are designed for fuel economy and emissions.
