06 R6 gearing questions

ok, i am getting the great opportunity to ride an 06 r6....i was wondering who else stunts one of these.....the problems with them, and most importantly, what gearing should i throw on it?? it will be used in mostly small venues where circle wheelies will be the trick of choice

thanks:YEAH

good luck on that... its not impossible to stunt i have one but and i havent tried low speed stunts on it i use my f4i for that... but unless it has been remapped and everything... you probably wont be able to do low speed circle wheelies... it has ABSOLUTELY NO power down low at all... it wasnt built for the street and def was not built for stunting... it is a crazy *** track machine/canyon killer....
trust me its going to be extremely hard to do have you even ridden it yet? most people put -1/+2 gearing on them i dont know if they make much higher then that for the new r6... but with that gearing you should be able to power it up real easy in first and maybe power it up in second... the rpms come in so high you have to do it at around 8-9 rpm to power it up with the gearing... iof you dont have gearing higher... clutch it up around 8 rev it to about 14 and drop the clutch it should come up fine... but this is all at a decent speed of 40-55 mph

Re: 06 R6 gearing questions

the bike has a gang of power, just not tourqe. get -1/+4 and you should be fine. the hollow low end should make for some real descent circ's. put a pcIIIusb in it, just to get a lil better low end. i concur with it not being for stunt, but **** man.... i am walkin some lovely shit on the freeway!

Re: 06 R6 gearing questions

it has fly-by throttle which means no cables. so ajusting idle could be a pain. other then that its just like any other bike.

Re: 06 R6 gearing questions

Dude it is fine for stunting . Power really doesnt have alot to do with slow wheelies or circles. The r6 is weak on the bottom when compared to like the 636 but it makes more power at any given rpm than an f4i. F4i 's are great stuntbikes , they have no power. The only downfall of an r6 is they are fragile. I would go 10 + and do it up

Re: 06 R6 gearing questions

thanks guys....i'm pretty sure it's possible to stunt an r6, i have ridden one in china and i thought it had decent low end power, much more than the zx6rr i was riding over there....i think they have some of the best front end setups out of the new bikes today.....basically ohlin's forks made by yamaha, should be a stoppie MACHINE.

.Z. ---+1-2??????? lol

i said -1+2... not +1-2 lol
hell if you guys say it will do it it probably will... but i use it for twisties and track... and it will do decent highway stunts especially for a 600 at high speeds too
-1/+2 (down one tooth in the front sprocket... up two in the back)
just incase you didnt know? not calling you stupid tho
oh and it is a stoppie machine.... strong *** front brakes
