Re: F4I starting help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ground out r/w wire on the harness, and loop the kick stand switch with a paper clip see if that primes it

skinnyR! is a decent person
Re: F4I starting help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

does it have a key ignition? I ask cuz I tried to bypass my igntion so that I didn't need a key and it wouldn't prime the fuel pump. There is some kind of circuit in the key ignition that won't let ya hot wire it. I haven't figured it out, so I still use my key.

no it does not have a key I took the ignition apart and em just turning the bottom I get the tail lights to come on but no fuel pump and ignition or spark ......so that must be it.....

Re: F4I starting help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

are you talking about the tiny resister in the bottom of the ignition switch? if so I have 14v on one side of it and 0v on the other {when the key is on} I tried to jump across it but nothing ...and is the only fuze box the one by the battery? and all that is left is the black wiring harness up front with NOTHING plugged into it

It could be your tilt sensor maybe? Is there a small black box loose with the wires?

Re: F4I starting help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is the ignition switch. it will not let the fuel pump engage without it. you have to have the key in there to get it going.

The current has to travel through that resistor back to the ecu or it will not start. If you are going to bypass the ignition switch, take the switch apart (leave the resistor intact), turn the white plastic part so that the fuel pump primes. Tape it up and splice the ground (red w black tracer) to a separtate switch. That and do the tip over sensor along with the kickstand and you should be mint.
