Question SI Round Bar VS. FI

I have a FI bar on my 04 GSXR 600 at the mount. I am breaking my sub frame all the time (at least once a week). More the less it seems to be NOT from scaping, but from the bike falling over and rolling to hit the bar. I am looking into alteratives. I saw saw the Sick Innovations round bar on there site. Does anyone have it and if so any problems? Let me know!

Thanks.

Re: SI Round Bar VS. FI

Bingo ! Get a local welder to place a few strips in the right locations.

Between the rear footpegs.
Between the upper and lower tubing on the subframe.

We also cut custom strips that fit over the subframe mount to the frame..

That seems to make a big difference..

Cheers

Oh and the other thing is to always make sure your subframe bolts are tight.
Eventually they will ruin the thread in the frame and you will have to put locknuts behind them. Once thats done you should be good to go..

Cheers

Let me guess some f4izzle **** slobber is going to say "get an f4i" because of a subframe..

Re: SI Round Bar VS. FI

905 makes reinforcements but it's easy to make your own, just get some 1 1/4" x 3/16" x 16"(or whatever length just cut it) flat stock steel from home depot and bolt it from your rear set to your pass peg.

Took 3yrs of pancakes to crack.. $100 for pimp plated welds that will never crack again... Don't kno how that is crappy being that none of these bikes were made to be dropped anyways..

Don't get butthurt.. This is about SUBFRAMES... stay on topic hater..

Re: SI Round Bar VS. FI

I cracked my sub last night doing an endo.. It has prolly been weakend from the bar but the endo did it in. I was missing one bolt up front and I'm sure that had a lot to do with it. Does anyone make an aftermarket subframe worth buying? Also I am thinking of making a jig and fabing a tubular subframe either A- one made out of aluminum square tube and plate similar to F4i. OR B- One made out of steel square tube and plate. Has anyone seen a steel sub put on any of these newer bikes? I am just to worried about braking frame tabs even with the rearset brace.
