02 R6 preparation

What kind of things will I need to modify or add to my 02 r6 in order make a good stunt bike. Or at least the best it can be, seems like everyone rides honda's.

The best thing u can do to a yamaha is sell it and get something that won't fall apart at the first hint of a wheelie.......and get somwthing fuel injected

I hated my 01 R6

ya cuz the 01 - 02 r6's are carb.......if they were fuel injected like the 03-05 then you'd be straight....

yamaha's aren't that bad at stuntin i have an 05....and i ride it everyday

Re: 02 R6 preparation

ok well let me put it this way, I got the R6 for $1500 so i'd rather just make it work. I have an 03 r6 too but I don't want to stunt that. I'm just starting so this will be my very first stunt bike. If it's really that bad a choice i guess i could sell it and buy a differen't bike, but I'd rather make it work.

Re: 02 R6 preparation

i have an 04 r6, love it
but my subframe broke, up at the top on the left side
and by the gas tank, from scrapin the 12 bar i guess ?
i never even hit it hard, pretty shitty
i got a powers 12 bar it wears only at the bottom of the wear pad
i dunno if thats why my frame broke maybe it was to much stress

ya man 01 and 02 are completely different from the 03-05 line

the 03-05 line subframes do **** *** completely...u have to re enforce it or build one yourself..which is what i had done

but the 02 subframes are good so how wouldn't have to worry much about the subframe

the only thing i can see u having a prob with man with the 02 is that its carbed...now alot of people stunt carbs so it can't be that bad

Re: 02 R6 preparation

thats kinda what I figured. I mean, sure it might flood all the time, but I'm pretty used to that. it unfloods pretty damn fast if you just hold her wide open and hold the starter button down with the choke on. lol. I had an 02 r6 before I got my 03, then I bought another 02 for stuntin. so I'm pretty familiar with the workings of an 02 r6 already.

Re: 02 R6 preparation

i'm re enforcing my frame now,
i gonna do what bill D from road hazards has on his r6
the piece of bar coming from the frame down to the reseat holes,
pretty cool lots of support for sure, like subframes on f4is and 636s style

Re: 02 R6 preparation

Lower the float height 3mm. Do some other kind of breather so oil doesn't pump into the airbox. or you can just drill holes in the bottom towards the rear. It'll make a mess either way.
