Putting the wrong plates on your bike..

Anyone know what kind of trouble you get in if you takes plates off of one of your bikes and throw it on another cause of current registration?

Im sure they will, the frame was powder coated and i have no clue what the vin says.. but i just bought it so i shouldn't be at fault.. i just hope that the fine for the plates isn't going to be that big.

you have paperwork saying you bought it then you should be able to get out of that but if it is stolen they will take the bike and/or frame

I have paperwork for the motor nothing for the frame. I have plates on it though that go to a frame i was getting painted and then putting on the bike once it was done.... thats more what i am worried about. I should definatly get the motor back and then i just through it on the frame in my garage.

Re: Putting the wrong plates on your bike..

The worst part is that i was pulled over cause my plate was zip tied to the swingarm and then out of nowhere, the cop started looking for a vin. even after the plates and my license checked out. When he couldnt find one he took the bike. even after i told him i have all the paperwork at my house that was 15 feet away.

Re: Putting the wrong plates on your bike..

Just got back from the police station... After explaining to the Detective what i use the 12 bar for, he warmed up and just kept calling me crazy. I still don't know whats going to happen to the bike though. They are pretty pissed that the vin was scratched off too.
