well with the radial master on a f4i will it lock the rear wheer? or just enough preshuer to bring the front wheeel back. i still feel better with a brake that has the power to lock out the rear wheel

The bigger the bore, the stiffer it will feel, the harder it gets to push in the lever right ? So I wouldn't say you get more feeling buy taking a bigger bore HB...
Second post was 100% the truth though

Re: what's the best hb master cylinder?
Insane J is correct here guys. for my HB on my F4i I used a rear brake MC off a small kids 4 wheeler that had a 1 piston rear brake caliper im not sure the size of the piston but i know its small. I use 1 finger on the HB (my index finger) and can easily lock the rear wheel with just one finger. It works great for me only problem is its got an integrated reservoir so i have to mount it on top of the clutch and that puts the HB lever at an akward angle so right now im looking for alternatives.

The only thing that's hard, is to find a good 13 or 14mm radial master... Clutch or brake, both would probably do it's thing
But then again, that's just what would work the best for my bike... Bikes with better and bigger rear calipers could probably use the brembo 16x18 the best... But I believe that a stock F4i rear caliper only has 1 piston, so in that case, the brembo would actually still be a bit to big, and you would need a smaller one for the best pressure and braking power

Re: what's the best hb master cylinder?
Like I said before, the KTM superduke has a 13mm radial clutch master that i know about, Christian pheiffer uses it...
He told me exactly this: "All the American people are using front brake masters, that are really big. Like 20mm radials and stuff. But they just don't seem to understand that it's not, the bigger the better, but that a smaller HB master is better most of the times"
That's what he told me in person, and from my own experiance he's totally right...

Re: what's the best hb master cylinder?
This is also something I found on the website posted a couple posts above:
"Brake 13 mm REC Master Cylinder Black with Integral reservoir - Brembo
SKU 10.4620.23
Square reservoir style master cylinder commonly used on Ducati models from the 90’s. Typically used on the Ducati 900ss, 851, Monster.
On the models with Dual Front brake calipers, Ducati increased the master cylinder diameter for the front brake from 15mm to 16mm for better lever firmness and feel. When upgrading from a single to a dual disc set up on a Ducati 750, we suggest upgrading to the proper diameter master cylinder.
For single caliper front brakes, master cylinder diameter has been standardized at 13mm.
Clutch master cylinder diameter has been standardized at 13mm."

Interesting, it pretty much confirms my theory...

Re: what's the best hb master cylinder?
I worked at a KTM dealer and delt a lot with the MX bikes and I was looking to rob a clutch master off one of them and give it a try, does the superduke take brake fluid or mineral oil? Its not a theory either its plain science, smaller the MC bore the more pressure is givin with the same lever input but less fluid movement meaning the lever will move a bit more but youll need less effort with the smaller bore you go.
