stoppie question AAAAHHHHH!!!

Not sure what i am doing wrong, pavement is dry and isnt sealed. I get about a foot off and the tire squaks and i slide forward and get tank slap. The only thing i can think of is that the tire is right around 2/32 of tread. not bald it still corners great but maybe for that hard of braking it isnt up to par. please HELP and yes this is on the Z1000
thanks, Matt

Re: stoppie question AAAAHHHHH!!!

if the tire is old or dry it will slide too. try a pirelli supercorsa if that slides its not the tire

Re: stoppie question AAAAHHHHH!!!

Are you just jamming the brakes on?What kind of front tire is on your bike?Get a michelin pilot power,or other sticky tire. You should try coming in around 45mph progressively squeeze the front brake to preload the front end and shift your weight forward at the same time and you should be up and rolling.

Re: stoppie question AAAAHHHHH!!!

if your tire has that little bit of tread on it, it's definitely the tire.

Re: stoppie question AAAAHHHHH!!!

+1 on the PP's they work even better when they are properly warmed up
switch your front tire with the PP's@ 25 lbs psi and your problem should be solved.

right before you do it stand up and sitdown hard than, stand up fast as you grab the brake. shifts the weight to the front. helped me learn.

Re: stoppie question AAAAHHHHH!!!

I run my tires till they're treadless. No problems here.

Re: stoppie question AAAAHHHHH!!!

bt battlax's on the front and they were doing good until about a week or so ago. wonder if i got lazy in my posture and im not leaning forward far enough. I havent had a lot of success rolling a stoppie but comming up to a light and parking it on the front wheel wasnt a problem. and the last 3 times i did that i thought i was high sideing. Maybe if i try rolling it as opposed to just stopping it wont be as bad, seeings how i wont be trying to litteraly stop all that bike.

def +1 on the perellis but if u dont have the $ for them u can lower air pressure a lil and get a lil more surface area but if u lower it too much endo's seemed to walk to walk from side to side on me...... just practice and be safe endoes are one of the hardest tricks to truely master lots of wrecking was involved for me to get them and i dont even have them as good as most.... nme is the man as far as endoes go and i guess by what he says when ur on his level tires dont matter
