954 vs gsxr

Ok I kinda already know what everyones answer will be but I need opinions to help me make my choice. One of my bikes that I have right now is a 04 gsxr 600 with a cut yoshi,60tooth,extended sliders,1 complete set of fairings, streetfightered, dented tank, power comander with about 18,000 miles. I recently met a guy that has an 02 954 that wants to trade. The 954 has about 9000 miles, cages,12 bar, stunt stay, extra plastics, sprocket, vortex rearsets, and yoshi pipe. I am not very sure if I want to stunt out a liter bike and not very sure how comfortale i would be with it. I know everyone says it is a better stunt bike but just wanted some opinions from other people on what they think. I will still have to finish a few things on mine ie cages, pickup tube, round bar. to make it very stuntable. Not sure if I should do that or swap for the 954. Give me some pro's and con's of each. thanks guys..

Re: 954 vs gsxr

Two things about the Honda, waaaay more power and much more reliable. They are bullet proof. That being said, there is a lot to do with bike time when it comes to riding and or stunting. If you are comfortable with your bike and you like it, then keep it! GSXR's are great to stunt.

my choice...Honda, but thats me!!!

Re: 954 vs gsxr

There is no comparison! No disrespect to gixxers, but they aren't built like Honda's are. Gixxers are made to race, everything on them is built to save weight and just aren't durable like stunt bikes need to be. Hondas are the best stunting bikes out there.

Your bike has 18,000 miles on it and the 954 has 9000. Right there should tell you its a good deal. Plus your going from a 600 to basically a 1000 which is a big jump in hp. I have a 600rr and a 954. I like them both, but I love my 954. The bike feels like a 600! Can't say enough good things about it! The power is always there. The shorter wheelbase makes it a wheelie monster and really easy to do stoppies. You don't need to put a oil pickup tube in it because Honda already took care of this. The bike is bulletproof!

You won't be disappointed with the 954 bro!:YEAH

Re: 954 vs gsxr

id personally take the 954...just because ive always wanted one haha.

but yeah...9000 miles compared to 18000 ragged out miles? cmon dude. plus...not very many people have 954s...well atleast not around here, every new 'rider' has a gsxr...a dime a dozen.

954s are more original in my opinion. go with whatever makes YOU happy though.

Re: 954 vs gsxr

954 is a sweet bike, and that one has half the mileage of your bike. As far as stunting, the GSXR will be easier for circles and chit. 954s are pretty touchy, but siiiick stoppie bike.
Really comes down to personal preference and comfort.

Re: 954 vs gsxr

go with the 954, don't think I've ever been told "oh, you have a 954 yuck" or anything like that, but constantly told "you have a 954, those are sweet I've always wanted one." at shops, get togethers, etc.
