i had a friend at work order me a F.I cage from tucker rocky. got the cage and they sent me the old style. talked to greg at F.I and had him contact tucker rocky and they would not take it back. greg was cool, offered me a deal on the new loop and braces and sent me some goodies:YEAH but tucker rocky bites. gotta hate middle men. this happen to anyone else?

 

Thats why you go straight to Greg at FI. He is the man. He is usually always there during the week and will always take your call. Takes some time to get some stuff, but its custom so its expected. I have nothing but FI parts on my bike! Waiting for my clipons that should be here on Friday.:YEAH

whats the diff between the new and old styles i ordered my FI cage from my work from T.R. and the bottom hoop was a ***** to get on i had to dent the midpipe to bolt it up.

 

shouldn't be that hard to get an FI cage on. just leave it all loose til you get it together, then tighten all the bolts up.

 

yea i did leave it all loose it wasnt the 1st one i put on it was like the hole was drilled wrong but it works fine so i dont care

 

f4i designs haven't changed. they are strongest the way they are.


Is it tucker's fault FI designed a new cage? Not sure if they warehouse stuff or not but if they do do you expect them to throw away the merchandise because FI changed their design? If they are just a middleman then is it their fault FI sent the old style?


For the record FI has awesome customer service and an awesome product.

 

no the f4i loops are just tight. i had to give my exhaust a few taps to get it in, others have said the same.

 

yea like i said its done its job so i dont care about the trouble it gave me going on

like scott said, f4i hasnt changed their design because the f4i subframe mounts through the frame, not to a tab welded to it...therefore theres no problems. All other bikes subframes mount to a tab on the frame, so FI moved the side braces from the subframe tab to the swingarm pivot hole. A nice design. I liked my FI cage till i barrel rolled my bike and broke the cage. better the cage then the bike though
