12 O'clock???

Someone please correct me if im wrong, but I was alway's under the impression that a 12 o'clock wheelie isn't a scrape? Riding bast Bp in a wheelie and holding that sh*t is a 12 in my book. Not some squid slamming his minty new 12 bar into the pavement then proceding to rocket the front wheel back to earth??? Would some O.G.'s please shed some light on the subject.....

Re: 12 O'clock???

I was thinking that when watching those Level X vids, kyle kept saying about the bike being at 12 and so on.. but the tail was miles away from the floor! if thats right then I've 12'ed it easily , look at my avatar... but I haven't scraped the bar yet so wonder if 12 and scrape are the same thing cos I always thought a 12 was when you scrape

Thats what im getting at... 12 is NOT when you scrape! Which is what most people think. It's a controlled wheelie past Bp when your holding speed.

Re: 12 O'clock???

12 don't matter if you scrape or not. I always thought if your front and rear axils are vertically in-line then you are at 12 (one axil directly above the other). Like if you were to run into a wall both tires should hit evenly and at the same time.

exactly, 12 oclock is obviously refering to being straight up and down like the hands of a clock when at 12. ppl are always going to interpret things differently but in reality it doesnt make a difference if your at power, on break, coasting, scraping bar(if your bar sits that low) when your axles are in line verticaly that is officially 12 oclock. but most new riders call slamming into the scrape bar a 12 oclock.

youre an idiot. a balance wheelie is a balance wheelie. bp is at many diff angles for the speed youre going. 12 oclock is straight up and down. a scrape is a scrape most bikes dont scrape untill theyre beyond straight up and down(12). regardless if you have a bar set exactly at 12 or if ur scraping plastic way beyond 12 "12" refers to a position pointed straight up.
