F4i birdcage, stay pics?
Would any of you happen to have or be able to take a couple of pics of the OEM F4i fairing stay/headlight setup? Im about 80% done designing the 636 stay and would like to start designing the F4i stunt stay next week. Even pics of broken stays would help as it would give me an idea of where the weak points are...I'll have a friend leave his F4i with me to actually build the prototype but I dont want to keep his bike too long, so some pics so I can start day dreamin it up would be great ....
My main concern with the F4i stay is building one that supports the headlight, becasue from what Ive seen its only supported by the upper fairing and not the stay on the F4i...My 636 stay requires you to drill into the headlight and bolt it to the stay from inside, but that makes it so strong and I want to do the same with the F4i....As with my 636 stay it will be one solid 6061 aluminum unit not 2 seperate parts.
Also do you F4i guys cut your windscreens down or should I make it for the full lenght upper/windscreen?
Apprciate any help with this

If it supports the headlight you are definitely going down ther right avenue ... mine always break on the ears ... I only have the windscreen trimmed so its even with the top sides of the front fairing.

Thats the problem I had with the 905 and OEM stay, but you wont have that with mine for sure..The ears are supported by a .75" x .120" wall aluminum tube, if anything they just bend in and you can simply slip a long engine mount bolt or rod into the tube and bend it back out.....And Im thinkin of keepin some of the prebent tube parts in stock, so if it gets real bad you could buy it seperate. Then all youd have to do is grind some welds pop it off and have a new tube section welded on...Or I could offer that as a repair service...
