looks like your pretty hand with the steel if you know what i mean, or aluminum for that matter. looks like you got a pretty good thing going there, count me in for the f4i ones so i can finally put my fairings back on.

i will definitely be interested in an 05 model sometime in the near future when i start stunting my 636

also if you have the time you could design a way to brace the radiator so the mounts dont crack from landing wheelies and stoppies.

i would make it a full design for the 05 just because of the fact that the upper is the same size as the windscreen, and i dont wanna cut my plastic down.

id also be interested in an f4i stay in the future when i buy fairings for my bike

i would love to have one as well for th e04-05 gsxr 600 and 750s, let us know if you plan on making one for those, that thing is hot and would be perfect for what im doing cause i want to go back to full fairings, but the stock uppers break easy when they contact the ground

Re: Starting production of my 636 stunt stay, need some feedback

Well my new 03-04 636 stay prototype is done, and Ive sent the prototype parts out to be laser cut. So as soon as I get those back I'll have enough parts to make 25 stays, I should be able to have about 5 welded up a day...I will let you know as soon as I start having them welded so people can reserve their stays, depending on how the first 25 go I'll decide if Im going to produce more.....

I was going to start on the F4i this week but my friend hasnt dropped off his F4i to me yet( He dropped it again on the weekend and broke another OEM guage/upper stay), I went to a bike meet last night and met an old friend with an 05 636. He doenst stunt but was trying wheelies and came down hard one time and broke his OEM plastic stay/ram air. Kawi has that plastic part on backorder and hes been waiting over 4 weeks now, hes even called dealers all over the US and Canada but no one has one in stock....

So it looks like I'll have an 05 636 in the shop shortly to start designing a stay for it....I know a couple of people have PM'd me requesting I make one for that bike, so my question is how many people would be interested in a 05-06 636 stunt stay? I dont want to make 25 of them like the 03-04 636 and
F4i unless I know people want them......05-06 636 riders let me know guys

Re: Starting production of my 636 stunt stay, need some feedback

Ok guys it looks like these 636 stays are going to happen 100%, I just got the 2nd gen stay back from my welder and Ive test fit it. Im very happy with the way it turned out, and it looks like Im going to be able to stick to my $250price tag. All I have left to figure out is buying all the hardware required, figure out what Im going to use and charge for packaging, and make instructions for the install....Then I can give the go ahead for the waterjet cutting of the plate parts(lead time 1day), Ive already got the tube sections cut and bent, then off to welding for a few days.

So 1-2 weeks and I'll be ready to ship 17 of these out, now I need to make a list of who gets dibs on these 17.....Ive gotten a few PM's but only 2 have said they want 1 for sure ASAP, so if you want one please PM me so I can add you to my list and contact you. Also if you could include the shipping address so I can quote you on the shipping/handling....

j.b. 1 maybe 2
varman 1
left 14 maybe 15

Aslo appreciate any comments or suggestions And please ignore the missing cross bar, my welder left early today and I didnt have one ready in time. They will all have that cross bar just like mine, I actually just finished cutting and bending them all.....

Not as weak as you think I crashed into a parked SUV, and destroyed the front of it and my bike(8G damage to the SUV).. The only thing that happened to the frame where the stay mounts was a little crack, that didnt really matter since the neck of the frame got pushed in a few inches and was garbage anyways. The stay was pretty bent up but I removed it bent it back in a vise, and Im still using it to this day on my new frame.......So basically if you crash into something hard enough it might crack where it mounts, but it wont matter because your frame would be finished from the force required to crack it anyways..Thats something I wanted to test before I sold them to anyone else

I would def buy it if you made it for the '05 636. It looks as if it would strengthen the ram air which I have broke on my bike twice now from setting down wheelies too hard. I think that is the worst part of the '05 636 is bolting in a flimsy, plastic ram air piece into the steel frame...

How much modification do you have to do to the upper, windshield, and/or headlight in order to get this to work?

I'm interested in 1 for my stunt bike and 1 for my street bike, but I don't want to hack up my street bike at all if I don't have to.
