Re: This sport aint going to the X-Games....
10 years ago a kick filp was the ****
10 year ago a can can was the ****
5 years ago a long highway wheelie was the ****
give it time its the new generation like this aron calton
kid that are going to push the bar and make new more
"crowd pleasing" tricks
Its not somthing that will happen in a month a year to maby even 10
But if there are people dedicated to pushing the bar and try more and more dangerous tricks then in time it will happen

It'll be huge when we're 60yrs old watching X -Games and telling your grandkids, I used to do that... You will show them a pic of you doing a subrframe highchair scrape, and they will tell you.... "GRAMPA.. YOU'RE WHEELIES WERE GARBAGE!!"

Speaking of style variation.. How far can FMX go.. right now its 1 backflip variations... which after today just moved into the double backflip category. Eventually they are going to run out of tricks too... Along with skateboard halfpipe ect.. So in 5 yrs I guess there just won't be anymore X Games...
Freestyle Streetbike will be there..

I think the wow factor is the only thing holding this sport back. I think that it may eventually make it, but it will be the next generation. This sport is just now getting to the point where kids know what it is and want to do it. Once kids start admiring stunters and start practicing at 5 years old on there fifties, doing hc cirles on 125's by 12, Setting down a ss no handed to double backflip to rear skitch by 16, then the sport will get some attention. I know someone mentioned realistic, but a double backflip in fmx was not realistic 5 years ago, nor was a 1080 on a skateboard. It will happen, the question is when, and by who. Enjoy the Ride

Stunting is definatly on its way im 18 and if you only knew how many under age kids i know trying to stunt on mopeds, dirtbikes , and atv's around here its nuts...they even try to do streetbike oriented tricks on bicycles...the sport is definatly going to advance...Im always trying to step my game up and when my little brother is big enough for a 600 he'll be right beside me...in 5 years.:YEAH
and as far as the "wow" factor ITS THERE i see kids flip-out everytime some ***** pulls the front wheel up 2inches...its a matter of getting the right people to see it rather than some ******* in a fiesta on the highway...you kno what im sayin? Theres not enough big comps in enough places if there was a big sponsered event where i lived A LOT of people would attend...I know there is a lot of events now, but not enough. how many places have local mx tracks?....definatly way more support because there more places where its happening. just my opinion.

FRIDAY night I took my 2 sons racing motocross at MILAN DRAG WAY in
MCHIGAN ..
The drag strip was having car races going on,during track down time they
had SCOOTER TRASHST performing at the one end and alot of moto x guys where watching and talking about the stunts these guys where performing .
stoppies, wheelies, burn outs, circles, endowes and it was cool to see from someone elses eyes. I'v watched and have hung out with STand my sons have rode with ST at some events they think it's the coolest thing ..
That these guys let them hangout with them ,going main stream would and could happen If everyone would pull together help each other out and thank
everbody that helps them out. somebody knows somebody to help the other guy out a thanks goes a long way THANKS SCOOTER TRASHST..
FARMER BOYZ DADDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: This sport aint going to the X-Games....
You know what came of mx being at x games. Lots of off road places to practice. If x games does take up stunting, then maybe we will get little parks where we can practice. Skateboarders got them, bmx has them WRC has them, now its our turn. Most people just view stunting as a rebellious way to get attention, not as a sport. I could see there line of thinking back in the day, but think about the last few years, we have started becoming very technical, and like someone else said, this is just the beginning. Cmon any one with a 1k can do a wheelie, but we are rockin circle wheelies. Endos through obstacle courses. Thats why theres so many vids being sold, people love to watch the seemingly death defying stuff we lay down. I think a lot of people are afraid that when it goes mainstream, that they will be left behind, because people doing way sicker stuff then we could ever do. I personally would love to see that.
If you think about it from this standpoint. I lve watchin Pastrana get out there and lay it down. But he is on a different level, its nice to see what can be done, but seriously, not many people are going to lay it all on the line like he does. But we still think its sweet when we see someone land a big air jump on a double, especially if we are the pilot. Simple fact of the matter is people live their lives through others. We are the pioneers of this sport, we have the heads up, and we are the reason why it is what it is.
You cant tell me that you dont like to see someones eyes light up at you doing a trick, and wonder if you inspired them enough to go out and get a bike and learn exactly how hard it is to do what we do. We give people passion, and a goal. Our stuff is way sicker than a double backflip. The only problem I see, is the fact that we like it the way it is. I came up with a stunt that could possibly kill you (Poorly described but still described). You guys made fun of it and completely dismissed the fact that it was even possible because of how much was on the line in perfecting the stunt. But I can promise you this. It wouldnt be worse than the dude screwing up a kiss of death backflip would it?
